Christmas Eve 2008 and a song to go with it as sung by Tatsuro (Tats) Yamash1ta from the album entitled New York Christmas. I love the typical New York scenes found accompanying the songs throughout this whole album. They show the New York area much as I remember it from my childhood. This song is at once poignant and joyful. It is about lost love, but more than that too, it is about missing those in our life who are now absent and yet not losing the memory of them. I think this is why it is so popular in Japan that no Christmas is complete without playing Christmas Eve. It is considered Japan’s number one Christmas song, even though it was recorded sometime in the ‘80’s. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. All the songs from the album are listed here as well. There is no #8 as somehow the person who copied the songs miscounted them. There are really ten songs total. #12 plays Christmas Eve again while displaying the credits for the album.
This version of Christmas Eve has visuals which are abstract, but it also has the lyrics printed in English. The sound is better as well:
