If anything ought to be done after giving birth it is a screening of women's thyroid status, but only if they show signs of depression. Postpartum depression is most often the result of a thyroid imbalance (sometimes temporary, sometimes not). Thyroid imbalance (temporary) or disease is not treated with antidepressants or costly therapy. It is just insane (that's the politicians not the women giving birth) that people today are being controlled like cattle to the slaughter.

I bet home births with midwives increase if this insanity is also passed the US senate. Since when did US house representatives and senators become doctors (with a few exceptions)? Shouldn't a medical decision law passed mainly by men and some women with no medical background be considered a form of practicing medicine without a license? I think the lawyers representing maltreated women could have fun with this one.
