| MRF Morgellons Research Foundation PO Box 357 Guilderland, NY 12084-0357 December 2008 Newsletter The Phase 2 research being conducted by the microbiologist in Massachusetts we mentioned previously has commenced. Nine scientists with varied backgrounds will give their objective and independent input to this project which focuses on particles removed directly from the skin of individuals identified as having symptoms of Morgellons disease. This research is supported by a grant from the Morgellons Research Foundation. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is sending a letter to all state medical associations with information about their activities related to Morgellons disease, also referred to as Unexplained Dermopathy. We will keep you informed of any additional information about the Phase 2 research project or any other developments. Best wishes for a very Happy New Year! Best wishes, William T. Harvey, M.D., M.P.H., M.S., Chairman Mary M. Leitao, Executive Director Douglas Buckner, Ph.D., Associate Director Janelle Fossen, Secretary Dale Cowher, CPA, Treasurer Roy Houchins Board of Directors Morgellons Research Foundation The Morgellons Research Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization (LC) |

| Thanks LC , It is funny that this doesnt generate much interest any more. I suppose we have heard it all before from them. We are right to be sceptics though. What has the Cancer Research Foundation done for cancer? carla xx |

| Ah, Carls~ But Cancer is big business. Why mess with big buck incomes for big pharma and the cancer industry? Maybe since cancer will be given a vaccine in the near future, they are grooming Morgellons to be the next money maker. Let's see what the anticipated new disease epidemic we're hearing is coming brings. "Morgellons is coming....Morgellons is coming!" xoKritts |

| What is different and encouraging about the current report is that they are examining skin samples from Morgellons sufferers rather than hot water tanks! I sincerely hope that FTIR Spectoscropy is being done on the fibers. Dr. Wymore had done this test and will not discuss or publish the results until the test is replicated by other scientists. Results must be something pretty bizarre. SS |

| What I find very uninteresting about this next part of the MRF study is that once more it focuses on the fibers, as if this is the main part of what morgellons is, rather than doing more detailed blood and urine studies to find out what the underlying disease process is doing to our bodies. This may involve an as yet unidentified parasite which is in the blood or lymph, as more than one of us suspect. This IMHO is not a skin disease and the fibers are just a symptom of an underlying systemic disease process. Of course I could be wrong. Still treating this as if it is just a skin disease seems to be going about it the wrong way, but just IMO. I also feel there is a genetic component which allows us to get severe cases of this illness, just as is true with the parasitic disease called leishmaniasis. There are only some patients who will develop a systemic version of that disease which is something I believe may also be true with us. It is a genetic difference which allows systemic leishmaniasis to develop in some but not others. It seems to involve the T cells.

| Have you ever noticed how the people that after a operation for cancer have it THROUGH OUT their body. I know two people that served at the same time as me in ASIA and one here that died of brain tumors. The very first thing that I was aware of from this was ear itching, hmmmmmmmm, it is very likely this now out of hand malady has ALWAYS been the cause of cancer, cancer is a SYMPTOM. Look at the amount of vectors we have developed are we all hypocondriac's. There was a cancer show on and it explained that, the reason cancer spread like wildfire after an operation when they take out the large mass is this, THE LARGE MASS MADE A GOO, OOOOOO YELLOW GOO, the goo being no longer produced in large amounts by the big daddy cancer had the small cancers thruout the body start to grow all at once. Have any of you people know cancer victims, they start with one small cancer and have it cut out and the next thing you know they have lung, spine, brain, liver, and all kinds. People used to say, oh as soon as the air hits it then it spreads. It already spread thru this systemic unknown cause fibrous lesion disease. This is NOT a new disease, only advanced, way advanced. Another thing, dosn't it seem strange to you that Alzheimers is thought to be caused by this fibrous material that produses a brain wasting FLUID. Its as clear as the lesion on the end of our noses!! | TCM - The report says "particles" and not specifically fibers. About 14 months ago the MRF had a great interest in the black specks as being more important than the other structures found. They had sent some out for DNA analysis, but never released the results. The only report was that the results were "inconclusive". I imagine fibers may be part of it, and if so, I hope that Dr. Wymore's results are replicated and confirmed so that the results can finally be shared with the rest of the world. I do agree that this is a systemic process, as does just about everyone, including the MRF. But given the limitations of the type of research being conducted (9 scientists independently analyzing specimens) it is not really practical to obtain deep tissue samples. I do understand why they would be examining particles that have already been determined to be specific to Morgellons and readily obtained. I don't know about you, but many things came out of my skin that were not fiber-looking, but were sheer nightmares. Doing blood work means testing for things that are already known. They are looking at things that are isolated already but UNKNOWN. I think it is a very good sign. SS |
