The most appalling article on morgellons yet

I have seen articles posted on different websites that say the CDC is doing a tudy since the year 2000. Finally it really happens in January of 2008... They even have a "helpline" which is not a helpline at all. When I called it an automated message immediately comes on and states that you can leave a message or email them, but goes on to say that they cannot address individual inquiries, so why bother even giving a phone number or email address? I wouldn't be suprised if when they conclude their study Mogellons is announced to be a psychiatric illness. Why is it what thousands are suffering from this and it's not acknowledged, but then there are diseases that are so rare, but still have a name, treatment and a place in the medical books? I just don't understand!

I just found this from Bad Astronomy and Universe Today Forum.

The poster is giving his explanation for why alien abductions (substitute "Morgellons" for "aliens" below) are so bizarre and why the "officials" keep quiet about it. It fit the whole Morgellons situation so well that I've copied and pasted the section that fits:

"The aliens have their own agenda which seems to include remaining in doubt as to their existence at all within the general population. To that end they seem to leave their victims with wild and divergent memories of such a bizarre nature that society at large will discount the stories as too fantastic to be believable.

It is a divide and conquer mentality to further their purpose without organized resistance. A way of saying "Talk about the experience all you want. Your memories of the event will be so bizarre and fantastic that no one will believe you. And if you persist your society will think you are a nut."

"I must also consider that this level and scope of intrusive purpose into our society cannot have gone unnoticed by our military who is charged with responsibility for our defense.

Why this is kept classified by our government is open to much unfounded speculation. Collusion is the least likely scenario. Classified research into how to get control of a situation for which they have no current defense is the most likely. However since there is no information from official sources, there is nothing but speculation to serve."

Interestingly, there is also a Morgellons thread on that site, but it seems only one person gives it any serious consideration.
