| I am not a conspiracy theorist. More a believer that people can have a lack of forthought and endless capacity for stupidity. That consequences are not considered. As for those of us me included who are worried about the CDC study it is because an insurance company could have possible conflicts of interest/ethics. This is WHY the ISDA had a review panel of their guidelines. Members who made Lyme guidelines served for insurance companies and other interests which created ethical issues and conflict of interest. That simple and logical. Why should the CDC be any differnet than them? (LC) Last edited by ladycolorado; March 17th, 2009 at 06:46 PM. |

| I find it rather interesting that the person who claims to have written this article seems to have copied (cut and pasted) at least some of it word for word from articles appearing on Rense.Com. On that site these words are credited to Jeff Rense and appeared in November 2008, four months before this "new" article appeared: Morgellons Jeff Rense November 2008 "It is also reported by many Morgellons victims that the fibers and other Morgellons items exhibit a kind of collective intelligence within the bodies they have parasitized. The fibers are motile and can be easily observed to move and to reach out for nearby objects with a 10x to 30x scope. They are not bacterial or viral and can withstand blowtorch temperatures of 1400 F under laboratory conditions, researchers have already established." "The mental and neurological effects of the Morgellons syndrome include brain fog, serious personality changes, fear, depression, suicidal thoughts, and physical coordination issues. Morgellons victims also suffer rapid spikes in body heat levels, severe malaise, and chronic fatigue." "It is also reported by many Morgellons victims that the fibers and other Morgellons items exhibit a kind of collective intelligence within the bodies they have parasitized." I wonder how much else was copied and pasted from earlier writings by others? Not sure, but it looks like it might be more.

| TCM you have a valid point about cutting and pasting. If one really thinks about it is that not really what most journalists do regarding stories about Morgellons Disease? To the point of ad nauseum. ![]() (LC) |

| So the answer is 'Yes You Have' !!!!. ![]() Well who can blame me after the treatment they have given us. and I still can't believe the 1200 number ,even if it was last year. I know your not saying otherwise TC but Jeff Rense is a very credible source for News .I've never read any Headline he links to that wasn't true and you can't fault all his health articles. Also I was listening to a Rense Radio show the other night and he had a little rant about Morgellons and the way we have been treated half way through an unrelated show. I thought that was really good of him . |

| I don't think that anything new has been written about Morgellons by anyone lately (except for some ideas which remain unproven). I guess some folks feel compelled to copy other people's work so that they look good by seeming to be the originator of information, especially new information. Just take it out original context, mix it up a bit and it looks different. However, these folks look rather silly in hindsight. I am not sure I would consider the source of such (re)written information very credible. I noticed MRF has a new banner and that they have cleaned up their site, making it look more professional. Perhaps this is in anticipation of new information from them, not that I am saying it is. As always "Hope springs eternal in the human breast" (partial quote from Alexander Pope).

| No, Carla, as you said I was not discussing Rense and his site, just pointing out that some of what appears to be "new" in this article is old information. In this case Rense should have the credit for writing at least portions of this article. As you know, his words are supposed to appear in quotes with attribution to Rense and in this case the URL given as a reference. Nowhere in this article was that done. In fact I found another paragraph on yet another site which was also in this "article", but by then I was so disgusted I quit looking for more examples. What appalls me is the way some people have no shame in taking information which others have written, not even having the decency to change it and express it in their own words. No, they apparently feel that it is fine to copy others' work and claim it as their own. When I was growing up this was frowned upon. Teachers would instantly fail (the course itself, not just the paper) any student caught doing this. Sadly it seems standards have changed considerably. One only has to look at what is going on today from the top down to realize this.
