Kritters, thanks so much for searching out the well cleanup article - it sounds like quite a process! Think I'm going to "hold" on that one for now, but it does add to the possibilities. We are close to a creek on well water and who knows what might be growing out there. . .? LC, thanks for the microfiber idea. Funny, I was in a store before all this happened and some microfiber towels almost jumped out at me. I resisted buying them although I was so tempted. . .couldn't rationalize what I would need them for. Now wish I remembered where I'd seen them! We just (2 - 3 years back) had our house recarpeted with new curtains; there's no way I'll get any agreement to rip them out at this point. Also am struggling with just the daily wash and cleaning. Does anyone have any motivators or systems that help to get a handle on moving forward with all this?

Hi Time2Heal! I don't no if you want to hear my opinion but anyway I'll tell you what I did ![]() It is important to clean your house in steps. Mostly important are places where YOU are the most like your bedside, your bathroom, your chair, your side of the couch and so on. I cleaned those places first with antibacterial spray and washed all bedspreads and clothes of MINE. Treat all of your clothes the "Morgellons Way". This may take a few days...I know...exhausting.... but it's very important since you and your clothes are the possible vector to others. Do not forget your outdoor jacket and shoes. Then do ALL shared rooms like kitchen, dining room, livingroom etc. Spray everywhere with desinfectant spray, especially doorknobs, wipe all surfaces with a wet papertowel. After that I washed all of the "good" clothes of my children with antibacterial detergent and cleaned their rooms the same way I mentioned. Well to come to your question: This is what I did. Between all that hassle take your time out. Sit down...drink a cup of coffee or two...look at the MDR Board...write a little...read a little....laugh alot! And then go back and do the rest. You will see if you take breaks..only a few minutes....work is much easier then. After you have done this Basic Cleaning....keeping clean is alot easier. Do you have a Steamcleaner...the one's you can clean your floor with? Well, some come with a carpet glider. I filled my steamcleaner with water and antibacterial solution. Go over the carpeting...but don't let it sit to long over one place (gets to wet). Do one side to the other. Let it dry and then hoover clean...throw away anther. You will see your carpet is really clean and it smells fresh too plus and that's the most important....get's rid of the creeps trying to hide ![]() Katinka Oh, I almost forgot. Get rid of all Plants...I believe plants and soil are places "they" like to settle down too...plus get reactivated by watering them. Throw them out...I know...some are really pretty...I did anyhow...it's safer...and one more thing you don't have to worry about. Last edited by Katinka; March 21st, 2009 at 11:58 AM.

Katinka, I absolutely DO want to hear your opinion. THANKS! The "break it down" and "focus on your areas first" are good starters. I have (had) a wonderful cleaning lady who came regularly, but I called her and told her that I wanted to wait and see my test results - in the strange case that they might show something treatable - before she returned. She has three really sweet kids and I'm still very much struggling with the "maybe contagious" part of this. I simply don't know how to deal with that at this point. So for me, it's adding a process in my life that I haven't really dealt with for about 15 years. . .but think of what great exercise I'll get by learning to clean again . . .if I could only find the energy. . .baby steps I also liked your idea about doing a little then checking the forum; in fact am on my first "break" at the moment!
