| I found this article today and wanted to share it with you. I have read a few articles on the internet that think that Bush has a hidden agenda, and is using this illness to close our borders. There are quite a few people in cyberspace that believe this theory. I don't have an opinion either way about the topic, but yesterday I found an article posted by a female doctor out west, that is the co-founder of the Billionaires for Bush Organization in one ot the far western states. She appartently at first debunked Morgellons, and then after a visit to the White House, has declared publicly that she herself has Morgellons. Her story is very believable, therefore to me the implication of her agenda is questionable. I am researching her story, and when I get enough information I will post a link to it. I have found evidence that she is indeed the co-founder of the Billionaires for Bush Organization, in the state that she lives in..........but I still need to confirm some things before I post it. I don't know who RP Barr is in particular, but I believe that he believes that Morgellons is a real disease, even if he is not sure of it's origins. None of us are sure at the moment. I also believe that he will be an advocate for us. I hope you find this article as interesting as I did. Niecy ![]() http://rpbarr.typepad.com/rpbarr/200...lons-dise.html March 11, 2008 Morgellons Disease By: RP Barr I subscribe to a health information e-newsletter authored by Dr. William C. Douglas. Yesterday, the good doctor alerted me to a disease or condition that was new to me: Morgellons Disease. It may be new to you since it was only named in 2002. Apparently it was the media disease-of-the-week for awhile, but I must have been somewhere else at the time. Anyway, Morgellons is a new name for what may or may not be an old condition. Experts are not agreed that it is a separate disease and point to similarities with symptoms of existing diseases. The characteristic symptoms are skin sores, itching like insects are crawling under your skin, and fibers of various colors under the skin. There is also joint pain, fatigue, etc. --I'm not going to go on about the condition because this is not a medical blog. Dr. Douglas cites outbreaks of Morgellons in the Southwest and attributes the disease to illegal immigration. This is quite a leap. He also castigates the CDC for employing Kaiser Permanente to do a study based on their insured customers. He asserts that Kaiser patients are not in close proximity to the border and are not indigent, so the study cannot address his concerns. The Morgellons Research Foundation has had reports of the disease from all 50 states and 15 foreign countries including Canada, the U.K., the Netherlands and Australia. That doesn't mean that illegal immigrants have not had a role in the spread of this disease--if it is one--but it does make the case less self-evident. My concern is that this or any new medical alert will be blamed on illegal immigrants, thus fanning the flames of the rising bigotry against Hispanics and also "slowing the discovery of the real reason for the problem". My second concern is that "since illegal immigrants, as a group, are the least likely members of our society to seek medical help, they are the ideal human vectors of epidemics. Forcing undocumented individuals into hiding only increases our risk to any contagions they carry and makes medical research that much more difficult." For more information on Morgellons, I refer you to the CDC website or to Wikipedia. Posted at 09:35 AM in Current Affairs, Science | Permalink

| Hi Niecy, (did you get my pm???) That would be Dr. Douglas of the Douglas Report I sent the info about yesterday. http://www.morgellons-disease-resear...20765#msg20765 Kritts |

| I read your post Kritters, (after you posted this one), and yes it is the same Dr. Douglas. My post however is on RP Barr, and his thoughts on the Douglas report, and moreso, on Morgellons. I was just pointing out to everyone, that we have apparently, yet another journalist that has become an advocate for Morgellons, whatever the reason. His concern, is about "illegal" immigrants, and the fact that they "don't" receive medical treatment, or most likely wouldn't if they thought it was something that might get them deported. He feels like that fact will slow down progress is actually finding answers on Morgellons. I got your pm, and I am working on it. Will pm you tonight. xoxoxNiecy ![]() Quote:

| (copy) Excerpt from RP Barr's letter: Dr. This is bs . Illegal immigration! The current administration is trying to kill two birds with one stone. First, by trying to gain support to fencing off Mexico, and second, to give us a misdirected target to focus on as to the source of Morgellons. Good find niecy! ItWL, ~jonsi
