I was wondering anybody else here have or had lyme disease in conjuction with morgs? besides bubba. She as stated she has lyme disease now, like myself. Which is a other constant battle withen itself. I was reading like over 80% of cases of morgellons include lyme disease as well.

Yes jovie lots of cases which i have been reading up on seem to be connected with lymes. The idea goes like this. People with the tick-borne disease have weaker immune systems and may be more vulnerable to the infection. But then again that would leave you open to most diseases. I personally think their got to be more to it then just weaker immune systems. If that was the case, i would figure we be hearing about tons of aids patients with morgellons as well?

Ginger Savely, a medical practitioner in Austin Texas, says she's seeing more and more patients in her clinic with the morgellons symptoms. Quoted in a local newspaper she said "Talking about it just sounds crazy, but there are just a lot of things that come out of their skin." Savely specializes in Lyme Disease and believes there may be a link. She says that about 10 percent of her patients with chronic Lyme disease have symptoms of Morgellons. Her theory is that people with the tick-borne Lyme Disease have weaker immune systems, and may be more vulnerable to the Morgellons infection. The Morgellons Research Foundation says that forty-four people with Morgellons have tested positive for Borrelia burgdorferi (Bb), the bacteria which causes Lyme Disease. They believe that an infection with Borrelia burgdorferi (Bb) may alter the individual's immune system and allow this unknown organism to become an opportunistic coinfection.

About 8 years ago, I was tested for a number of things to see if they could figure out what was wrong with me and Lymes Disease was one of them, but they said I didn't test positive for it. But it sounds like they have or are improving the testing for it. Do you think that Morgellons could be a development or manifestaion of Lymes Disease? I am hypo-thyroid which is an auto-immune disorder but I didn't become that until at least 5 years into the morgellons. Some of the pictures on the Lymes web sites look like morgellons. Mine aren't blue or red, but always very light, white with the occasional black one and they wiggle. (yuk)

Bubba and Bev, I am getting hassel from my sons school. They are saying he has temper outburst and that he looks so pale ,bags under his eyes and is very skinny.I think they are saying he has malnutrition. Is it possible that he has caught Lyme Disease from me even though he is 12 and I was not infected until after he was born . These symtoms are on lots of lymesites as symtoms in children. Is it possible he has been infected just from living with me Carla

| He cannot catch Lyme disease just from living with you, BUT do you know for SURE exactly when and how you actually caught your case of Lyme? It is not uncommon for families to be exposed to the same conditions of ticks; when hiking, playing, camping, etc. or be around the same pets and areas. It is a blood and bodily-fluid borne bacteria; but mainly found within the tissues, so it would NOT have been transmitted by hand, touch, cough, kiss, or sharing a simple drinking glass. only by childbirth, repeated acts of sex, major blood exposure (NOT simple needle poke.) Hope this info is helpful.
