Interesting as often those who suffer like us with Morgellons Disease talk of biofilm which makes the black specks and fibers stick to us and it feels slimy. Apparently Lyme Disease also has a bacterial biofilm component. Lyme Biofilm: . Dr. Eva Sapi - Bacterial Biofilms and Lyme Disease: . The promise of biofilm research: . (LC)

Hee-hee! Good ones Jane and Cyn! Gotta laugh! But here we are taggin' it. But at least we're taggin it for what it so obviously is....and I'm not typing that "B" word. LOL! Cindy

Nope I'm not a mod....just a Morgie. I used to be a mod on the Sanctum but I really wasn't all that much help when it went south and I feel bad about that. I should do a proper introduction and I will. I have seen you (Jane Doe) around on line and you crack me up! ...until we know if Morgellons is associated with a bacteria of some kind ....then how in the heck do we know the sticky stuff is a BF? Pretty sure those things need to be associated with a bacterial or fungal pathogen and so far... thousands of cultures down the road now...we still don't have that finding. Yes, we have a sticky substance but I don't think it's been identified as being a BF I thought there were few labs that were able to test and identifiy these anyway. I am familiar with Eva Sapi though and have had the opportunity to hear her speak. She is a fabulous research scientist who has done some very interesting studies on ticks. Cindy Casey

Well, I learned something here tonight. I thought, the way people talk about biofilm, that it just meant a biological film. I didn't know that "biofilm" is technically specific to bacteria or fungus. So I looked it up and sure enough. So now I have to find a shorter way to refer to it than "the sticky stuff that doesn't wash off my skin." But while we're on the subject, I keep asking this question and never get an answer. Maybe you guys will? It's regarding the white things that come out of skin and the sticky film. They don't seem to be eggs, or alive, and they absorb liquid and swell. A lot. Sometimes they have black specks in them. Is it possible that these things are this film, whatever it is, that's collected in the pores and the body is expelling it? And is it possible that the film isn't a way to keep the morgs close to the skin but to trap them outside the skin? Like maybe something our bodies are producing to protect against invasion? And maybe it collects in the pores to trap the black specks or whatever and push them out? If no one knows what the sticky film is, is it possible it just might have a benign purpose, something we didn't know the body could do? If this can't possibly be the case, could someone explain why not? I'm relatively new to this and trying to understand.

I found it interesting (in the Eva Sapi video) that microfilarial nematodes were found in 85% of the ticks examined. Is it possible that some Morgies who are co-infected with Lyme (and Lyme associated diseases) might actually HAVE nematodes? Not as part of their Morgellons, of course. Thank God I have "simple" Morgellons and not Lyme as well. SS

When you say you dont have lyme how many tests did you have done. I understand from people who have this one test is not enough too determine this. It has too be sent too a lab in calif sammy

sonji. Just this morning I had this stuff that came out of my eye felt like I was crying but it was thicker and more mucus. I also have the white thread things in my eyes. and of course black specs sammy
