| Thursday, September 10, 2009 Scam artists used Lyme disease to scare victims, feds allege The U.S. Attorney for Kansas says a California woman, Carole E. Bradford, has been indicted in an alleged Lyme disease scam that also included others, including her husband. Here's how it reportedly worked: The 20-count superseding indictment alleges Carole E. Bradford and the other defendants conspired to violate the federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act by conspiring to sell a microscope that supposedly would diagnose Lyme disease, as well as drugs that supposedly would cure the disease. | This is a shame. The Bradford Scope can ID Lyme. Reading over all the related links, it would seem that the doctor gave the wrong treatment protocol. IV- Bismuth which is found in Pepto Bismol. Years ago they used Bismuth as a treatment for Syphilis - traditional medicine. Lyme and syphilis both are conditions with 'keets'- spirochetes. Carole and Robert Bradford were brought into the lawsuit because the scope ID'd Lyme in the womans blood. I don't know that they had any input as to the treatment that Doctor Toth used. It seems their only crime was related to the scope that ID'd the Lyme disease. Their company, American Biologics, presents supplements much like those of Hilde Staninger. In fact, if your scroll down on their link below, you see that they sponsor an Annual Symposium on "Integrative Medicine" - Hilde Staninger uses that same designation. Her title "Industrial Toxicologist/IH and Doctor of Integrative Medicine" states as much. Also, Bradfords' info promote some of the same products that Hilde recommends. American Biologics What's the harm in alternative medicine? Beverly A. Wunder Age: 47 Topeka, Kansas Died April 20, 2006 She was injected with bismuth as an "alternative" treatment for lyme disease. A year later she was dead. Another patient was injured by the same treatment. The doctor surrendered his license and was sentenced to 32 months in prison. It's a shame that Bradfords were brought into this case
