| FOXNews.com - Pastor Killed, 2 Hurt in Illinois Church Shooting - Local News | News Articles | National News | US News An Illinois pastor was shot and killed, and two parishioners injured after an unknown gunman opened fire during Sunday services at the First Baptist Church in Maryville, Ill. The gunman walked down the church aisle and briefly spoke to the pastor before shooting during the 8:15 a.m service. Rev. Fred Winters used the Bible he was reading from to shield himself from the first round of bullets being pumped at him, a parishioner told FOX News. The gunman's .45 caliber semi-automatic pistol jammed after the fourth shot was fired. The suspect then started stabbing himself with a four-inch knife, Ralph Timmins of the Illinois State Police told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Timmins said the gunman slashed two parishioners when they tried to subdue him. The newspaper reported late Sunday a source close to the case confirmed the gunman as Terry Joe Sedlacek, 27, who developed mental illness after Lyme disease attacked his brain. |

| From an interview of the producer of "under our skin", it was noted that 7 out of 10 Alzheimers patients are actually infected with the Lyme spirochete in the brain. If they were treated with Strong Antibiotics, it may kill the spirochete or some of it allowing memory and behavior improvement allowing them to get them out of the LOCKED Alzheimers units. I have worked in nursing homes and the Alzheimer patients do get ANGRY, VIOLENT, and OUT OF CONTROL. Some have screaming rages. All the symptoms of lyme infected brains. As Lyme rates increased in the 90's and into the next century, SO have the number of Alzheimers patients. There IS a correlation to the rising numbers of people diagnosed with Alzheimers and the increasing Lyme infections. It's just that they are not testing Alzheimers patients for Lyme and treating them. This is sad for both patient and Family. It's not just the patient who suffers. | It could be he was tired of being called crazy, or itching made him go mad. I can not WAIT to see a picture of this fellows face so I can look at the condition of his skin. Needless to say there was somthing wrong in his mind going into a churh and killing people is not normal. Sad That Korean fellow that shot up the university he had the bad skin, that is where I got this 38 years ago. |

| I read (or heard) that he had brain lesions, and had been treated so aggressively for Lyme that the medication cocktail almost killed him. I remember in the first Chimp with Lyme tragedy that a psychiatrist came forward and talked about how common "Lyme rage" is. I don't have Lyme, but I have RAGE. And it is because thousands (if not millions) of people are being kicked to the curb because they are innocent victims of Morgellons. SS |

| Carla - I don't think it is terribly common, but not at all unknown. I think the issue is whether the spirochetes have penetrated the blood brain barrier and caused brain damage. It takes many years to get to that point. If you compare it to Syphilis, also caused by spirochetes, it isn't until the disease progresses to the tertiary phase that brain function becomes manifest (and is often the cause of death). Syphilis seldom reaches that point anymore - but it's a much older disease and has been studied extensively (unfortunately, much of what was learned came from the Tuskegee experiments). As mainstream medicine is reluctant to accept chronic Lyme, it goes untreated (thank you, medical insurers). SS Last edited by Sadsack; March 10th, 2009 at 01:03 PM. |

| You know, it's been said that Lyme causes Alzheimers....therefore also dimentia and other brain disorders, so I'm not surprised if it caused this situation in this poor guy. I really do wonder why most (if not all although don't know it or test for it) people with Morgellons also have Lyme. Kritts |

| Kritters - I wonder about that myself. I have been tested twice and there was NO indication on any of the 10 bands that I have Lyme, so I am quite certain I don't have it. The exceptions to all these trends make this such a conundrum! I HAVE been diagnosed with MS, though. I wonder how many people with Morgellons have none of the "sister" diagnoses? Lyme, CFS, M/E. Fibro, ALS, MS - did I miss any? SS |

| But SS~ which tests? You know, I'm sure, that you could have many false negatives and never even get a positive and still have Lyme. The two common tests aren't as good as the CD57 and then it has to be sent to the Igenex lab in Cal. Correct? For 'FUN' one day, I looked up all the individual 'sister' diseases you list above, and basically they are not much different from each other. Most importantly, for all are stated that 'they' don't know what causes them and 'they' don't have a cure. My question is, what are we paying 'them' for anyway? To diagnose and give medication the insurance companies cover? Ummmm...a rhetorical question. I think they are basically caused by the same thing, only land in the weakest area in your body and manifest themselves there, thus a new disease is born. What amazes me is how parasitic organisms are never considered to be the problem. Duhhh.....we dunno....we're only doctors. All we know is how to prescribe medication. I know I told this story about the Lyme 'specialist' I recently visited who hadn't even heard of the CD57. It didn't matter to him since he knew insurance wouldn't cover that test if it wasn't the currently acknowledged and approved test. I told him I didn't care if insurance covered the treatment. He didn't like that. In fact he didn't like me. I didn't like him, so we're even. He saw a slight redness to my skin (I am 61 soon and have been in the sun most of my life, so I might have a tad sun damage...but I AM part Irish) Mind you I was TANNED at the time, so who the heck could see much red?...So, he said I might have Lupus. I almost laughed him out of the office. After looking it up at home, I have NONE of the other symptoms.... What a sad excuse for a 'specialist' of ANY disease. Just another way to get more business. Well ya know what, Doc? I'm a QUACK SPECIALIST.....and you are diagnosed as such!!! |
