How is it possible for the IDSA to have a Lyme guidelines hearing date set for April 27th when it hasn't notified speakers that they will be speaking at the hearing? When it hasn't even selected speakers? When it hasn't even posted applications for speakers on its website? When it hasn't reserved a room for the event?

History of federal Lyme legislation, Part One


Now that the Lyme and Tick-Borne Diseases Prevention, Education & Research Act of 2009 has been introduced in Congress, it's important to understand its legislative history.

CALDA founder and president Phyllis Mervine has been in the trenches of efforts to pass a federal Lyme bill for more than a decade. Starting this week, she blogs about the history of this legislation. In the coming weeks, she will fill in more of the story, and keep us up-to-date about new developments.


Lyme patients' conference in SF bay area April 18

GETTING HEALTHY AGAIN is the theme of a Lyme patients' conference scheduled for April 18 in San Ramon, California. Four Lyme-literate medical doctors will give presentations. There will be a concurrent workshop for teenagers with Lyme disease, led by a family therapist experienced in working with young people facing Lyme and other chronic illnesses.
