If scroll to the bottom, says YES lyme disease is a problem in Austrailia. Here is the link: http://home.goulburn.net.au/~shack/lyme.htm . here is a little about Lyme disease and Austrailia: http://medent.usyd.edu.au/fact/lyme%20disease.htm (LC).

Yes LC, lymes is only been recognised by a few doctors there, as the majority believe it doesnt exist in Australia as the ticks do not hold borreliosis (load of rubbish i reckon). Majority of the medical community believe that it only exists in North America and Europe, they are now finding people testing positive and don't know why. Yet again another story of doctors not listening to their patients. Good Bless the ones that are now treating - i did the other day get some of the doctors names from a lady in Sydney using the Cpn protocol (Vanderbilt) she emailed me. They are same as you have researched thank you very much LC. Bonus is their in Sydney only 1.5 hours drive for me woo hoo (when i do go back home). Although (the brits here will love this) i might hang around a bit longer for the brilliant weather we are having at the moment!! Only joking the UK will always be close to my heart when i do leave.....

Good Jason, I just had to post this, as the story of Austrailia is a very unique one with Lyme disease, as it is a seperate continent and has its own seperate evolution. Who had any idea ticks could cause so MUCH TROUBLE? Yes, because a different tick may be the culprit is what is causing trrouble about some recognizing Lyme disease in Austrailia. Frankly I think MANY insects carry Borrelia, and this is grossly downplayed for some stuipid reason. I am glad about the good news for you. Make sure your Current doctor has communication with a future one, as you would like the same continuity of care. (LC)
