How did they treat it? I have had cat's for 25 years now. Is this something that we can carry and not know we have it? Is it like lyme where you need long term antibiotic therapy? Just wondering.

Cindi, I can't remember, I will call her and ask her tomorrow, but I know it was with some kind of antibiotic...........It actually did come from a cat scratching her though, the cat belonged to her grandmother.

Well I have had many cat scratches lol who knows if I was aware enough to make a connection to feeling ill afterwards. But my friend could not remember being scratched either.

Hi Guys,

I tested positive to Bartonella as well as Lyme and Ehrlicia.

When i told my current Lyme doc about my symptoms even before blood tests he said straight away it was Bartonella, the stretch mark rash and crawling/stinging sensations on the skin, red papules and many other symptoms pointed towards definite Bartonella. And bingo the blood tests came back very high positive.

He put me straight away on Rifampicin and Doxycycline. Rifampicin is used to kill the Bartonella organism and straight after i started taking it i could feel it killing it, had so many sweats, tiredness etc. Another medication used for bartonella is Levofloxicin. But can be harsh on the tendons so must be discontinued if this happens.

Not sure what else to say but i think some people who have Morgellons there is an underlying cause that you need to try and find, my doctor believes the crawling etc i attributed to Morgellons is Bartonella causing Neuro problems on my nerve endings and is very common with Bartonella patients.

Hi, good conversation. Yes I have most symptoms of Bartonellas and am compiling papers for dco to read. I beleive that mites may have given it to me. Heck, my sisters cats never had any problems UNTI, she started coming to my sick house, then took my cat in cause I was homeless for a bit. Now her cats have mange type problems, throwing up and real bad poo odor. The look pretty rough. My sister has also been in ER with Cellulitus, a bacterial skin infection. Many infections really. I think this is a symptom of MOrgs and or a great problem for the community anyway. MY childrren have the symptoms also, but getting a doctor for them is not easy since they would rather take an antibiotic and forget the whole thing. Thats a problem with our society today. We dont sit down and say whats happening and everyone pulls together. Such a shame. Theres power in numbers. Love this Morg.group, dont you!
