"His whole website says how wonderful and kind he is, but apparently only if you can go there pay his fees and meet him in person." And I know from personal experience that he is NOT CHEAP. I had two phone calls with him in 2007, each less than 1/2 hour, totally about $1,500. And I got nothing that I didn't already know. SS ps - his prices are posted on his web, so I am not divulging any "secrets".

This was pulled from a Townsendletter circa 2006. Biochemistry of Lyme Disease (Feb/March 2006) Nitrous Oxide (NO), A Potential Lyme Therapeutic Agent Nitrous oxide (chemical formula NO) is a gas, at one time commonly used as an anesthetic (laughing gas). In more recent times, the biochemical activity of NO has been related to the relaxation of the small muscle fibers in the walls of blood vessels. They serve to either relax or constrict the flow of blood passing through those vessels. The mechanism of NO bioactivity has also been learned; this involves the substance c-GMP (cyclic guanosine monophosphate). The amount of c-GMP at any time is regulated by the enzyme, phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE-5), having the capacity to destroy it. c- GMP fits into a cavity on the surface of PDE-5, the "active site" of this enzyme. Any other substance capable of being bound by the active site of PDE-5 inhibits the activity of the enzyme by blocking the entry of c-GMP, thus allowing a greater survival of c-GMP. To summarize, any inhibitor of PDE-5 allows an increase in the amount of available c-GMP and consequent relaxation of blood vessels, permitting a greater flow of blood through those vessels.10 It has been demonstrated that NO is toxic to Borrelia burgdorferi, the causative organism of Lyme disease.11 Therefore, any inhibitor of PDE-5 is a potential therapeutic agent for Lyme disease. Inhibitors of PDE-5 in common use today are the drugs sildenafil (more commonly known as Viagra), Levitra, and Cialis. Whether these drugs act therapeutically against the Lyme spirochete has not been demonstrated clinically and remains unknown. (See Chart 8.) ____________________ All for now Morgan

Some of you may have mis-interpreted this paper. It's not the lyme that is causing the obesity. it is TREATING the Lyme, having the lyme DIE, and it then gives off BIOTOXINS that cause the other problems. I found another MUCH BETTER SITE!! it's Biotoxin or Neurotoxin Illness (CFIDS, Fibro, Lyme and Mold Illness) Information and Testing Center it's where Schuller got HIS info to write the paper. IT's from a Dr. Shoemaker and you can get some tests ordered and have your doctor talk to him for just $50!!! I think he says there is a substance cholestyramine that can be taken that binds with the toxin to help get rid of it. What he seems to be saying is that treating people for lyme without testing for genetic inability to process the biotoxin is INHUMANE! I stopped my antibiotic treatment until I get the tests results back. Need to test for VEGF Leptin but most important is the HLA 5 Don't get me started on the testing procedure, the lab techs didn't even know what they were doing. They sent my blood in without treating it properly for the test, luckily I caught it and tried the get the supervisor to investigate. It's taken 2 weeks now to just get the test done right!! I've been tired and doing some soul searching.

Sprite, Your post on this is so timely for me, thank you. Please clear your pm's....I tried to send you a message. I think we should really share everything we have learned about the Lyme testing and treatment experiences since it is seemingly so much a part of Morgellons. Thanks again, Kritts

| Since the discussion is once again mentioning Dr. Shoemaker I thought I would bring a link to some posts about Shoemaker, some of which contain information not found so far on here. 10meters who did an interview with Harvey has two posts which I linked to in my post in this thread. We have not heard from this poster in some time now (where do all our posters go, hopefully you are totally well 10meters!), but the information posted is interesting IMO and so I think them worth re-posting for newcomers: Estuary Associated Syndrome in N.C. (permalink 4) This was a thread started by Kritts about estuary sickness which may also be of interest.

hello all, tylee here, i was just diagnosed with lyme disease borderline and the lyme disaese center here put me on doxycycline for one month but in week i am to take alinia. after reading this should i stop this atibiotic and not also take the alinia (which is for parasites), my stool test is not back yet for parasitic confirmation. I told her i was not sure if i should take anitibiotics but she was very adamant that i take them or go on a hrbal type treatment instead. obviously upset with the diagnosis i left and have started to take the tablest. I am on probiotics too. god if this treatment makes me worse then i am wasting my time. ? or really making myslef worse.?? my regular dr. told me he did not think i had lyme disease and is going to call the lyme disease place to discuss why i am on the tabs. i wont know now fo another week and am still taking them in fear of stopping them.................what to do now after reading this thread concerns me. I do not understand all the lingo above with biotoxins etc as I am new and very uninformed with lyme and also morgellons, so I am pretty lost here------------any suggestions i wouold greatly appreciate it.----god bless--tylee
