Default Intro

Hi to all,
Found out what M was about a month ago after doing a google search on "filament skin growths" as I had just gotten another Rx for Bactrim for what was what I thought was a bacterial origin that kept reoccurring and outbreaks getting increasingly worse with sores and tunneling between lesions and with bleeding, oozing, biofilm, and mysterious items that I would pull out. Mental confusion and desperation woresning as well as anger.

The list is endless as to what helps and what doesn't, but Bactrim has always seemed to help clear the lesions. This time around I took a course 500mg for 2 weeks and there was some improvement but lesions did not clear. So contemplating getting another script but not sure of length time I should stay on. I never had any tests except to have Doc tell me I had some gram neg bacteria or others saying I had acne when I knew dam well it wasn't.

So until now I thought I had been fighting something that was primarily bacterial, but don't know what the hell to do any more becuse the list is endless as to what helps and its mostly what doesn't or temporarily does and now its ---INFORMATION OVERLOAD---
as well.

So I've eat a fairly healthy diet as whole, but now am being even more diligent. I can't say the quantity of lesions is many compared to other peoples but the size and depth is. The one on my rt calf had a very small site that has been nagging of and on for 2 years, but upon using some hyrdocolloid dressing trying to heal the opening that was bordered by what seemed to this hard fibrous white tissue and bleeding it became evident there was a greater area below skins surface that was being attacked and soon had a 2 x2 open area. Meanwhile my appetite and weight was continuing to diminish also, isolating to the max and just seriously feeling life was coming to an end.

So if I get Bactrim again, for how long, also now that M is being more acknowledged by CDC and is listed in the National Library of Medecine as: Morgellons Disease [C17.800.518], my question is, should I now openly ask my Doc about it? Or should the subject be avoided still?

Default Chap. 1

I thought I might continue using this thread to talk about what's up with me and my life with M.

Have seen myself step to a personal challenge, to find my own voice, to take a chance that I do have something to say in this world, cause as a rule I tended to not share any level of intimacy with much of anyone. I had my professional work rapore with fellow employees and sometimes there were problems but thats life. But beyond that not much in the aspect of socialization even in the internet world. A non-active Facebook account says a lot about me, but I'm working towards may be changing that or at least hooking up with more likeminded individuals (or not) but at least saying something and maybe being able to light a spark within someone else out there, but like life no guarantees are included.

So it was a big thing for me to become a Junior Member today. Felt good, I was grinning ear to ear, my cat got all excited to she seemed to see something different in me. Pinky is a very smart cat. (No I'm not nuts) To be able to actually say something and that maybe the way I look at a real serious issue, how science approaches life, or how what they(the EPA) make regulations on, could possibly causing harm to plant, animals, humans and the environment because the complacency of their approach.

As far as finding what helps my M situation best is still being experimented with, I haven't made any definitive conclusions yet. But lesions continue to improve but progress is very slow, mind seems a little sharper. I have gotten a lot of great advice as well done a lot of personal research. There's some simple cheap approaches, a little more expensive or natural products, and of course western medicine. So its a work in progress, when I observe anything new I will talk about it here. Until then...

Keep on Truckin'

PS has any tried the new Dragon speech recognition software? Is it a thumbs up or not? Want to hear some honest opinions before I decide to purchase or not. Thanks

Default I had dragon natural speaking LOL, decided to learn how to type with two fingers,

Dragon natural speaking I used it, it is ok but you need to LEARN how to use it and be able to speak precisly the same every time. It learns your speah problems over time, LOL and if not you go over the text and correct it.

Its ok depends on if your tolerant or not, LOL. You may love it.

NO WAY I'm going to check out any new software.... even if it is Angel Soft?

csi, like your posts & I have a new 14 week kitten that my daughter talked me into adopting. I'd like to throw her back into a box (where she was found with 3 other kitties) especially now cuz she is so active & won't let me sleep. Nope, we adopted her & will keep her.

That's how I feel about the new members here. As soon as a "newbie" joins this site, I hope they will keep coming back for support.

Hi there Jonsi, nice to be here too. I forgot about the Dead's Truckin' song, here's the one I was thinking of. How do you embed the actual video in a post?

Hi csi,

I live the the Jemez Mountains in northern New Mexico at 7,500 feet elev. We have lots of mesas too, and cliffs here... I grew up driving in the mountains so I'm used to it. This pic is the main road going out of my town to the "valley".

A really picturesque part of the country, but then this whole country has so much beauty in its landscape every where you look. 7500 ft would scare me a little bit but like you said you get used to it.

Default Week 2

I really missed being able to take a tub bath, so I began to think outside the box. First thought was of a kiddie pool, maybe big enough to soak in and small enough to fit in limited space. However after making some measurements I found this would not do. Then it came to me while perusing the aisles of Walmart. A very large storage tote would be perfect. I shopped 4 stores til I found the right size for me and that will fit into my bathroom. A 30 gal tote (28" x 18") it is a little cramped but does the trick. In 36 hours I have had 3 baths and am feeling a lot of relief. I like to use Johnson's Foot Soak or epsom salt w/ some cider vinegar.
On another note while treating my lesions, have noticed my wounds having a smell of spoiled meat. It is very disturbing to smell one's own body rotting but hoping its just part of the healing process.

Some of the lesions are showing improvement, so I remain hopeful. I still find that witch hazel or a mix of IP6 and distilled water helpful in cleaning the wounds. Both seem to soften the fibrous material for easier removal but find soaking the lesions with the IP6 on a dampened cotton ball, covered with plastic to seal in the moisture helps even more. I let it sit for a couple of hours. I continue to use fresh, cleaned aloe leaves and A&D ointment. Sparingly I use H202 and GSE, as well as some DSP products.(still waiting for some to arrive)

I began using Static guard during my cleaning routine, it helps to make the removal of cat fur an easier task and seems to keep the dust accumulation down. Bedding is cleaned twice a week. Towels, wash cloths, clothing is washed after on days use. Always use borax and regular detergent. Vacuuming once or twice weekly.

Continue to support diet with probiotics, trace minerals and some vitamin supplements. There are lots things I do try but do use anyone thing on a routine basis, maybe this might not be the best approach but I feel its better this way so they don't get immune to any particular adjunct. Always try to eat healthy, using organics when not out of my price range and avoid 95% of prepared foods. I do enjoy Mother's carmel flavored rice cakes, spread with a little butter as light sweet treat. Love fresh citrus, fruits and veggies. We have several apple trees on property, so after hurricane Irene knocked many apples off the branches I canned up a lot applesauce. Making fresh bone broth and freezing for later use, is great for making healthy soups, too.
