Hi, I am a 50 year old man, and I have just decided to join this community. I believe that I contracted this dreadful condition from being bitten by bed bugs at a motel in Myrtle beach SC ,back in Feb 2011. I'm not even sure of what it is,if it is. I just know that I have the stinging, itching scalp ear canals, and small pimples and pustules appearing on my neck, arms, legs and body. I also make everyone itchy on their cheeks, ears, neck etc. That troubles me the most. I am divorced 3 years from a 27 year marriage. I also had a girlfriend for 1 1/2 years. We broke up about the time that I came down with this. It wasn't related to this though. I don't know how everyone copes with this! I had a heart attack 1 1/2 months ago after a 15 mile bicycle ride, which was very strenuous. Related/unrelated? I don't know! What I do know is that while in the hospital for one week I told the nurses about this condition.they had a psychiatrist and a general practitioner come see me. Guess what they said? Yep! I'm delusional! The GP said " Hmm, you got something going on there" but he only prescribed Ativan and wouldn't touch me and got the hell out of my room in a hurry. So...Yeah, I'm just like the rest of you nutjobs on here! LOL! Anyway, this is my introduction.

As somebody said when I joined, "welcome to the land of fruits and nuts". I first came down with itchy-crawlines after a hotel stay also. That was a year and a half ago but suspect it might have just fully awakened something that was already lurking in my system. You'll find help and friends here, and once in awhile, a knock-down-drag-out for entertainment. I hope you're recuperating well from your heart attack. Was 15 miles excessive for you? For us 50-somethings, we need to be careful not to think that morgellons is causing all our health problems, although it's sure possible that the stress of living with it can tip other medical conditions over the edge. It sounds like you're keeping a sense of humor. Totally necessary so you really won't go off the deep end. Get as much good sleep as possible. Stay away from bizarre, rash treatments!

I appreciate this support and communication from everyone. I did receive the pvt msg, but I can not reply until I make at least 3 posts. This should be number 3. I am glad that most of you are in relationships and have love and support. Being alone is the worst! I'd like to be in a relationship of mutual support, with someone in the same boat as I am. I didn't get raptured up yesterday so, I must be on Satan's team!

It does seem that there are variants of this disease, and that the critters that got you weren't the same critters that got me. Personally, I'd rather not "share and share like." I've been very skeptical when some people claim they can "feel" when they're near another morgie because there's an immediate spike in symptoms. But a funny thing happened on the way to the forum a couple of weeks ago that makes me wonder about that. Our new maintenance guy came into my apartment to replace the shower head. Speaking of heads, his was shaved. Hmmm. Meaningful? Within an hour, and after having taken a shower where he'd been working for 15 minutes, I suddenly began the worst bout of eyelash and face "crawliness" I've had in months. It lasted a couple of days. Might have been something in the plumbing he riled up or maybe it was him.

The major problem of all our issues is ONE VECTOR, we may have 100,000 different invaders, which I doubt, but there is only one issue that unites us. Your disease is my disease, could I have others, could you have other issues, why not. The itching, fiber disease unites us, and don't you ever forget it, LOL. If this is not the case then we should RUN from site to site asking questions of every symptom disease we have. By the way, the drug company's love it when you say you do not have the same disease, more time to make more symptom drugs for more people with this underlaying cause. Trudy, along with my gold bracket and diamond hair pins I am wearing the latest new designer lesion, with highlights of yellow bio film, OMG, Bev, that is wonderful, my disease has spawned a new and grand symptom, Along with my Beverly Hill hat and pearl earing's I am at a loss for hair and have Mexican jumping bean eyelashes. Really that has my designer lesion beat by a mile, if I go on a fast maybe I can produce some black specks and sparkles, wouldn't that be just it for designer disease. Really, Yes, LOL If you just can not bring yourself to laugh, I guess your doomed to crying. We have the same issue

Baraka, down! ![]() I didn't say it was a different disease. I said there are variants of it. And if I smoke for 40 years and wind up with emphysema, it's probably not because of morgellons. It's because I was stupid and smoked for 40 years.
