but then my son(4) & daughter(3) started too. I have noticed in the past week or two these single little tiny thin black/dark hairs (some look like they are slightly just below surface) that seem to come from my skin. Now that Im paying attention & noticing this odd thing, it seems my kids have it too! before today I hadnt even heard of morgellons. I happend to google the hair thing & got WAY more than I bargained for. Looking back in the past several months I can recall some signs. It all started one night with what I had always thought of as a mole until I looked closer & thought it to be a splinter. I tried with much difficulty to remove it and ended up removing all these little brown things from my arm which I thought were the insides to the mole that I had mistaken as a splinter. needless to say the next day I had 3 dimesize "holes" that I had dug into my arm to get things out that just kept appearing (I HAD NEVER DONE ANYTHING LIKE THIS IN ALL MY 30 yEARS!) I assumed it was some allergic reaction to cleaning products that I had been using etc. When the "holes" started to heal up(I had removed at least 1 layer of skin prob) I kept noticing these black things the size of a mini staple around the edges & sometimes in the middle. I pulled them out at first as I thought fuzz from shirts. & eventually deduced that they were some type of strange scab but nonetheless kept picking them out for some odd reason. they healed slowly but eventually. About this same time I noticed on my little girls "private area" what looked like to be a spider bite one day while changing her after nap. Its still there today(3 months later). everything was forgotten until the past 2 weeks or so. i noticed what I thought to be a tiny ingrown hair on my face around my eye, so i pulled it out & noticed an abundance more all over my face. They are either dark or light blonde and both are baby fine & kinda squiggly but notlike a ball of fuzz quite. I wasnt sure what to make of it and also I started noticing on my arms ingrown hairs and what seemed like a whole bunch more fine baby arm hairs, looked it up & deduced it was "keratosis pilaris".......until today! I was putting lotion on my son cuz he has really dry skin & what i thought was exzema until I noticed the same type of hairs coming from his skin & "exczema" pimples, same with my daughter too. I mean like face, arms, legs, back, neck, etc. Also lately been asking my kids while at daddys for the weekend if they have been climbing anything wooden cuz of what seems like are micro splinters(they both always seem to have at least 1) or what looked like tiny pebbles in thier skin. I thought they fell outside? or if they have been playing in sand cuz it seems to be all in thier hair, and just the other day I noticed what I thought was black sand in my daughters hair but none of the shiny pieces that also come with sand. Also looks like shes developing some scalp buildup. I have noticed the coffee ground thing here & there if Im "picking" my face skin, which by the way I seem to have developed an obsession with. i noticed just recently that I seem to be breaking out into what I thought were pimples (never had acne) mainly on myface, shoulders, back of neck along lower hairline & back but they dont pop or if they do its a thick oily/sticky fluid? & they seem to itch if i sweat. I seem to be doing more of that lately and also hot flashes have come along with this? I noticed scalp buildup in my hair three days ago to the point that i was running my fingers through my hair & it would release a bunch or shorter wirey hairs that i thought were ingrown due to buildup and also under my fingernails was filled with this gritty greyish skin residue? hair has seemed a bi greasy lately. IDK what to make of any of this, and reading all of this Im SCARED for my kids but dont want to be overreacting. Before today I was chalking most of thi up to new england fall weather setting in.....now im not so sure. Any advice, opinions, or thoughts would be welcomed. PLEASE help me?

That all sounds very familiar. Not to panic though. There are a few board members here such as Jonsi, Carla and KcKc who have both Morgellons and children. These wonderful people have already been where you are now. They probably have some great tips for mitigating this especially where wee ones are concerned. You are not crazy... and it is easy to obsess on this so relax and just focus on treatments that will work... Panicking doesn't help. I dont think that "popping" these "pimples" helps... it never did for me. There are lots of protocols and treatments here to help you get over the initial "rough patch". Along the way you may need to change your diet and do some cleanses... of your body and your house. Then build up your immune system. You are at the right place. Many People here will gladly help with advice. Xib

Hi, LLoorreenn, Welcome to the zoo! I second everything Xiblanque said, especially about not panicking. It's so easy to freak out over this; I was in a dead faint for a couple of months. Relax, take a deep breath or several and don't stop living your normal life or enjoying it. You'll find lots of help here. Also, if I could recommend that you NOT do what I did in the beginning, which was look at all the gross pictures and dwell on the many different (some bizarre) explanations for Morgellons. If you have a good imagination, they'll make you crazy. Next, don't lose your sense of humor. Last, remember you're not alone. There're more of us than you think.

Do not run around telling everyone of your familys issues, they are your problems not your neighbors, friends or anyones elses. You should only do it is you want to be avoided like the PLAGUE. Your not the first to deal with this and that makes you VERY lucky. You have all the people here to help you. Keep this in mind, this is a plague, you are not the only one to have this, in fact if you look around you will see many with the acne your sporting, especially the young adolesents. You will not do well to try to alert others about their involvment UNLESS they are already spewing about lesions or itching, and still never tell them of your involvment, they will be first to mention your name, just tell them there is such a itching disease.

LLOORREENN Great advice by these wonderful people .The main thing is Dont panic and don't believe the hype about it being a death sentence either.Look on it as a warning . My Children showed all the signs of Morgellons until I stopped feeding them processed junk food . Now they are healthier than any other kids around them. I think Morgellons did me a favour. It woke me up to the damage I was doing to them by feeding them this junk.

| Double LOREN! I agree with Carla! Watch your family's diet. We have posted some healthy recipes. Main thing is not to eat fast food or processed foods with a lot of preservatives. We have a small tv in my bedroom, we watch very little tv... my daughter loves to play outside. Sunshine (vitamin D) is so important. So is music! Whenever my daughter starts to get sniffley or tummy aches, I put a few drops of "Thieves" essential oil on her clothes or pillow. Home of THIEVES ESSENTIAL OIL and Products based on Thieves Oil My lymph/reiki therapist gifted this to me. When I am out and about I wear it as a perfume & my boyfriend calls me his "cinnamon girl"... but it seems to keep illness away. I also got an expensive ionic-pro air filter and it pulls the fibers out of the air. You can get some epsom salt and put it in their baths. IMHO this really pulls out the fibers. The only soap we have used for the past 3 years is Miracle II soap. I have a number for a lady who sells Miracle II at the lowest prices. PM me... I don't sell anything and try not to promote any product. I am simply stating what has helped us. Hang in there! Let us know how you are doing. In the white light, ~jonsi
