Default Formal Hello

Hi Guys,

Been posting for a while and been in contact with a few - anyway thought i would say a formal hi to the group. So hello.

I am from the UK - 22 years old. I think that i have been harbouring symptoms for about 5 or 6 years and from memory more progressed in last 3/4 years ever since taking roaccutane or maybe even before.

Anyway this went full blown in February of this year when i started antibiotics. I started to feel generally pretty dodgy, noticed skin changes and then started to lose my hair and eyebrows. Since i have got the biofilm and some other stuff to boot. Fibres - yes, i get them on my clothes & i have pulled one or 2 from my skin but no lesions and no real obvious fibres popping out. Anyway i am off the anitb's in a few weeks & hoping that this isnt going to go the whole hog with me

I was just wanting some advice from those prepared to give it around 1 or 2 things.

1. - I am an elite sportsman - my main competition is in 4 weeks - i figure that this isnt too long to carry on not doing much about this and pushing my body in the grand scheme of things before having some time off to get it under control...?

2. - I have a girlfriend of about 1 year - we do all the usuall stuff, live together, stay together, sleep together etc and i am not sure what to do on this front - i am not prepared to let her go but dont know the liklehood of giving her this affliction...?

3. - same goes for if i move back home with my folks to get some time off from it all to get this under control - i dont want to take this back there...

I have mixed opinions after what i have heard & researched as to what this is - i suppose i cannot observe an awfull lot on myself at the moment as i dont really have lesions or loads of fibres (i have some pretty strange red lines under skin on my arms).

What is of most interest to me at the moment is whether these fibers ARE the disease itself manifesting in us, or whether the fibers are a by product of another pathogen/organism.

How this disease is transmitted to us god only knows but it is clear we must have had repeated infection/exposure to whatver the organism is for a time - maybe through fungus spores, via parasites etc.

And lets not forget there has to be a reason why WE got it and not others - genetic cursors/pre-disposition? repeated exposure when unaware? Somthing that has changed our body in the past to allow manifestation?

Hey Wooty, We don't know what were dealing with here. My husband doesn't seem to have IT. I'm convinced I got it outside from plants or bug bites. But just in case I avoid close contact with other people.Partly because I don't want them to see the debris that can appear all of a sudden and partly because if they get it I don't want to blame myself or wonder if I spread it.
I'm just lucky I don't work outside the home.

I wonder too why WE have it. The horse doc was here yesterday and her skin was like a china doll. She works with cows horses outside getting all bit up and animal saliva and everything else all over. She said she was just out in a pasture getting all bit up by gnats and deerflies. So it makes me wonder too why don't more people with high risk jobs have what we have, If it is from the outdoors ?

I know I got a lesion that did not go away for 2 years after getting hit with a ? while mowing the grass, and it spread from there. Also getting bit by bugs and poked by plants can leave a WELT and start a lesion. That's my experience.

Default If you got it your mate has it,

i went thru life with it, nothing similar happened to my mates except itching while I was with them. One is in bad condition now ahe already had issues when I met her though.

This gir; in time will develop problems, she may have already had it when you met her, but in the future go in knowing that if you have sex with a woman you have just offered her hell for her attention. If you can live with that I guess she will have to. I have a funny feeling that the strain of this I was subjected to has been updated

I may have caught a new strain in my latter years of affliction or its just the way it works in time.
