| hi to everyone, i have been reading of your site for a few months but i didn't join because my computer is slow. but i'm going to try anyway now. i've been sick for at least 2 years. many doctors and misdiagnosis' and "dop" just a few. i don't know how ya'll can work. "yes i'm from the south" i have not been able to work for about 6 months. i have always been a very happy and active person. i loved life. but that person is gone. ive wanted to die several times in the last year but i have three sons and even though they are grown i can't do that to them. this site and the mr.common sense site has been the only thing that has given me any hope to keep trying since i found them.and i want to thank the people who keep sharing and trying to help us. i'm not good at this, but i'll keep trying. i hope i can make some friends because right now i have no one i can talk to . sorry for the length. i'll quit for now. |

| Sleepy, welcome. I'm sorry you are having such a rough time. Morgellons has a way of turning our lives inside out. You are going to need to dig deep and remember the person you were—the one that loved life. There are still moments of joy, still things to treasure. Little simple things that you should not overlook. Today I saw a little girl in the street whose face had been painted like a cat. The artist had tried to paint the cats mouth so that it's tongue was hanging out. I thought it was adorable, this little artistic, celebratory painting on her face. I met her eyes and smiled at her. She was so tickled that she positively twinkled. That was a moment to savor. That was connection. Try and stay connected to life. If you dwell on thoughts of death, you will depress your immune system even more. I like Mr. Common Sense's site very much too. He is a bright one. What are you doing to try and get well? I love life, even now, and I've been separated from my boyfriend of 14 years for the last 4 months because of fear that he'd get sick from me. It's a tough thing, but I think of this as a spiritual exercise. Like if I were in jail, what would I do to keep my sanity? I'd develop coping mechanisms. I believe you have to hold the focus on who you are, and hunker down for the storm. All storms pass. They may throw us around and they may maim us, but if you want to be here, you will find a way to endure. Look at Baraka Obam, he's had Morgellons for 38 years. Imagine that. He was a teenager when he got sick. He was just flowering into life. Think of the sacrifices he probably had to make. Yet, he is full of wit and caring for others and he's managed to live with this disease. I still feel there is much to love about life. Find a creative outlet. That will help. Creating empowers and wakes us to joy. Write, take up painting—even if you've never painted before. Anything, doesn't matter what. Shake yourself into living. You might find a magical doorway into something. A hidden gift. I'm repainting my bedroom after some 15 years, making hand-made stencils that I will paint in metallic gold. I will turn my pain into beauty by giving shape to this time in isolation. I will be my own alchemist. Try and find your way. Your life is not over, just entering a new phase. I'm done with my little pep talk. Haha. Feel free to write me. I'd be happy to stay in touch. Hang in there. Big virtual hug. |

| Hi sleepy, welcome to this site! You can send a pm to any of us and I believe we would all respond. I'll never forget the first person I talked to that had "M". His name was Gene & he told me about this site. He used to sell dsp and lots of products that help us morgies. What a great guy! The second person was Anne. I hope you will find us helpful and supportive. Many of us are healthy again with very few symptoms. Some of us hang out to help the newbies. Peace & better health to you. ![]() In the white light, ~jonsi
