Hello from Paso Robles, California! We have over a hundred vineyards growing all kinds of varietals...lots of tourists from LA come here to party! I own a store that sells and installs truck and auto accessories, and know thousand of customers personally due to being in business here for 13 years. I have noticed people with sores on their faces and hands in the past few months, but I just don't know how to approach them about whether or not they know what it is! Any advice? I believe I am infected due to the fact that I have several symptoms which are mentioned by sufferers. I have the crawling sensation under my skin on my head and legs. I have the sudden unexplained pains in various parts of my body. My nasal passages frequently contain what feels like rock hard crystals that make loud sounds like ground glass when I can pry them off! (Sorry about the visual) And I felt a sliver of "glass" coming out of my skin just under my left eye. I had my friend pull it out with tweezers, but the area it came from feels different...rough and swollen. I've had insomnia for at least a year. I fall asleep, but wake up in the middle of the night and can't go back to sleep. My mind races. I have to turn on the TV to bypass it. I am so lethargic! I don't feel like doing anything physical! I used to be so active! I used to make lists on my day off and work through it all day until dark! I would dig, fix fences, etc. without stopping! Now I eat breakfast and crawl back into bed and watch TV all day! I could never have done that two years ago. Well, I need to get to work. I hope you all have a peaceful day... Marlene

Thanks for joining Marlene. It does sound like typical symptoms, but you will have to investigate and decide for yourself. It's funny you asked about how to approach others. I was just thinking about that Monday night. A girl was next to me and her pants were covered in M (Morgs). I don't know that she had the illness, but I've noticed that is one of the symptoms I've seen on ppl who have it but dont completely understand what is happening. I've approached ppl before. The easiest way is in the store. You can see from their look and what they are buying so it is easy to start talking about the things they are getting and go into the conversation from there. But other times, I've tried to hint and it did not work. The other night I was thinking, what do I say??? "Got any Delusions of Parasitosis diagnoses lately?" WEll, it would be nice to have a good way to approach the subject w stangers who seem to be experiencing these things. O... this girl did not have any sores, fibers, etc. Otherwise I could have just mabye found a polite way to ask about them. but she had fibers all over her pants.

I just got an idea. Maybe next time I will bring it up like my "allergy" and say it recently started bothering, and ask the person if he/she has ever noticed any allergic type of reaction to these things.

| Welcome, Marlene. I have had symptoms for eleven months now. The sores are on and off and the glass stuff, but the itching continues to be horrible. I have the insomnia and racing mind along with waking up with biting sensations. The short term memory loss is the scariest. I have a laundry list. I have been through the Napa Valley area on my way to see the redwoods. I loved it. You will find a lot of support here. Quote:

Hi, and welcome to a very good place to get information that will help you (hopefully). I do know what you are talking about when you say no energy! A lot of us have to struggle with daily chores and any physical activity. I just grit my teeth and make myself move! It is not easy to except the fact that I can no longer do so many things I used to take for granted. I will say things are better today than they were a year ago. The short term memory is pretty well shot but the brain fog has lifted a lot. I still can't spell or put together an intelligent conversation at times, but that is a small thing compared to where I have been. I was pretty shocked when I found I couldn't spell the most simple words! ![]() You will find a lot of very nice people here who want to help you. DD
