Default Just glad to be here.

Hello. I just found out a few hours ago that this "rash" was actually Morgellons. I went in for an ear infection last night to the emergency room, so while I was there I asked about my "rash" and told her I thought it was a fungus, my mom has it too, I gave it to her. I showed it to the doctor, and she immediately ran and got an ultra-violet light, she instructed me to wipe myself off, as she looked she said I see fibers. Nuff said, so took my prescription of creme home and did some research and bam---Morgellons. I itch like crazy all the time, I have lesions which has turned to brown spots all on my face, back, chest, and arms. I have nodules on my face around my hair line, I mean this stuff is crazy. I thank God for this place, I thought I had some sick case of acne/rash infection of some sort. Now, I will look for the threads/hair, I've probably seen them but brushed it off I'm sure, not realizing what was really going on with me. Well Peace and Love.

Hi Eris,

It is a pleasure to meet you and we are also glad that you found us.

I was surprised by the doctor's response with grabbing the UV light and looking at your rash. This makes me wonder if they have seen many come into ER with the same thing?

Anyway, you have certainly come to the best place to find answers and recover as several of us here have or are in the process of recovery.

The is HOPE!

God is with us and if God with us WHO can be against us?

Let us know how things are going, cc

Hi CC!

I was wondering myself if there was a recent surge in # of cases, I'm suspecting the Swine Flu Vax rumor re: agrobac could be true.

It'd be a comfort to know that new Morgies are receiving better mainstream medica treatment VS. DOP nowadays!

Eris, if I may inquire, please: Did you get a Swine Flu or any other vaccine recently?

Thank you!,

Welcome Eris! Thanks for joining us!

If I understood you correctly, it sounds like the doctor noticed the fibers but did not give you a Dx of Morgellon's? is that right?

My guess would be she either is not aware of it, or if she is believes it is a psychiatric disorder. It is funny how they prove our points when they find these things w/out realizing it is all part of M.

Well, good luck. Let us know if the prescriptions and other treatments they gave you work.

Thanks.

Hello Eris!
Welcome, there is alot of info available here! be wary of anyone here telling you they can heal you i would'nt want you wasting your money! try to avoid processed foods and take lots of vit c and zinc for a start! many of us are feeling much better.i would suggest you start treating your scalp.personally i use betadine everytime i wash my sons and my head and body. killing the bacteria off as much as possible. also neem oil and teatree oils are good also! there is a thread on treating our scalps you could check out.
BEST WISHES!
Robin

Default Potential Interaction Note - from personal experience

Hi Eris!

I personally have taken C and Zinc in combo, to ward off colds and it made my stomach very sick each time.

Be wary, indeed - some of these 'helpful' suggestions can be ineffective, waste time, money and just plain make ya sick.

Sometimes suggestions are backed up by scientific studies whereas sometimes claims of "cures" are not:

Immune-enhancing role of vitamin C and zinc and ef... [Ann Nutr Metab. 2006] - PubMed result

Ann Nutr Metab. 2006;50(2):85-94. Epub 2005 Dec 21.
Immune-enhancing role of vitamin C and zinc and effect on clinical conditions.

Wintergerst ES, Maggini S, Hornig DH.
Bayer Consumer Care Ltd., Basel, Switzerland. eva.wintergerst.ew@bayer.ch
Vitamin C concentrations in the plasma and leukocytes rapidly decline during infections and stress. Supplementation of vitamin C was found to improve components of the human immune system such as antimicrobial and natural killer cell activities, lymphocyte proliferation, chemotaxis, and delayed-type hypersensitivity. Vitamin C contributes to maintaining the redox integrity of cells and thereby protects them against reactive oxygen species generated during the respiratory burst and in the inflammatory response. Likewise, zinc undernutrition or deficiency was shown to impair cellular mediators of innate immunity such as phagocytosis, natural killer cell activity, and the generation of oxidative burst. Therefore, both nutrients play important roles in immune function and the modulation of host resistance to infectious agents, reducing the risk, severity, and duration of infectious diseases. This is of special importance in populations in which insufficient intake of these nutrients is prevalent. In the developing world, this is the case in low- and middle-income countries, but also in subpopulations in industrialized countries, e.g. in the elderly. A large number of randomized controlled intervention trials with intakes of up to 1 g of vitamin C and up to 30 mg of zinc are available. These trials document that adequate intakes of vitamin C and zinc ameliorate symptoms and shorten the duration of respiratory tract infections including the common cold. Furthermore, vitamin C and zinc reduce the incidence and improve the outcome of pneumonia, malaria, and diarrhea infections, especially in children in developing countries. Copyright (c) 2006 S.
