| Hi, everyone. Just joined. So far this is one of the best sites I've found! Been reading many, many sites for about two weeks (the mind BOGGLES) since my fiance and I figured out the folliculitis (1st misdiagnisis) and ringworm (2nd misdiagnosis) I"ve been bettling since December is neither but is Morgellons. He's had minor symptoms since spring and they've been worsening in the last few months, so aside from being distressed by my distress, he's distressed about the possibility of losing his long thick curly hair. And worn out from taking care of me, as my symptoms have gone through the ROOF in the last two weeks. Complete with total fatigue, sleeping, intestinal distress, and mood swings worse than ever. I read about Morgellons a few years ago and thought, "Wow, what a bizarre illness." Chris even mentioned it to me a few months ago, when the second round of high-dose fluconazole had failed to fix anything, and I thought, "Yeah. Right." Well, browsing for various fungi photos a couple of weeks ago --basically grasping at straws and tired of being bald -- and I ended up on MRO. After a brief panic (it's come and gone MANY times since then) I said, "Hey, look at these photos" (making sure I didn't lead him) and he said, "Wow, those look familiar. What is that?" "Morgellons." Radio silence for a few minutes, at which point I just started crying. Since then, we've been CLEANING (by a whole new definition), collecting samples, taking microscopy photos, researching everything we can find (laughing at some of the stuff...WOW) and just getting though each hour. Finally told my family the other day. My mom is an RN and is NOT convinced. My brother is skeptical. I'm 200% sure. Ringworm doesn't grow on mucous membranes, yet I've had this in my nose, gums and conjunctiva. My roommate had a scalp culture done and it was negative. I see it on SO MANY PEOPLE and in so many places but they're not sick (I have a somewhat weak immune system and have had viral meningitis) and everything just clicked. I wish it were ringworm most days but hey, it is what it is. We think it stemmed from a nasty black mold problem at our last house, but not sure. I don't care if it came from that or reptilian life forms, I just want it out of our bodies and home and to not spread it to my daughters. NOt too much to ask, is it? ![]() Anyhoo, I still have so much to read on here so I'm refilling my bottle of purified water and getting back to the forums. Glad to be here! Julia in Denver |

| Hi Julia.. I'm glad you found us. This site has a wealth of info that has helped me tremendously. I also believe that I had a short-term mold exposure which eventually led to this... At least you can stop getting mis-diagnosed and start using treatments that are helping others on this site!! Let us know if you have any questions or need anything! |
