| Welcome to the forum Gtaffy. I am sorry to hear you have suffered for so long and have had so many losses. Unfortunately it seems to be a common story for many with this disease. So no, this is definitely not something to wish on one's worst enemy. From what you say it sounds as if you are strong inside. I hope you will find something of interest here that will be of further help to you. Most folks are willing to answer questions if they can. Sometimes, we even share a laugh or two, though lately they seem to be in shorter supply. best, tcm

| Gtaffy - Welcome to the club that no one wants to be a member of. Is this the first time you've joined a forum? Twenty years is a LONG time! And, yes - Jo has made some remarkable contributions, and with humility. She also is an unwaveringly stable power of example! SS |

| I cannot even begin to imagine the constant pain you have endured for over 20 years now. Has anyone ever checked you for herpes type infections, just to rule that out? Since having this diagnosis from a doctor along with medications, my symptoms and the lesions have lessened greatly. I actually have small spots trying to break out very occasionally, but now they do not spread. They dry up quickly with some applications of some herbal salves I have which are usually used on skin cancers. I currently take acyclovir and have been on it for over a year. My doctor took one look at my back when I went in to see him and said it was a herpes type pattern. These infections do effect the nerves. So it is very important I think to rule this type of infection in or out, as there are treatments for herpes (though my doctor said it would take at least two or more years). Treating active infections does seem to lessen the bugs which accompany this disease. At least this has been my personal experience. Lately, due to some head pain (not too bad) my allergist added in some medication for post herpetic nerve pain, just at night, and this has now stopped that annoying symptom. For the parasitic part of this infection I use ivermectin as needed. I am glad you are able to do something to take your mind off things a bit. To think you can still smile says a lot about your inner strength.I hope this is your song--never sure as I am not that knowledgeable about this music.
