| Here's a good article about dying Honey Bee's. Honeybees Go on Strike (comic) by Mike Adams the Health Ranger ....The answer, of course, is because humans have turned planet Earth into a toxic world. We've poisoned the one thing in the universe that openly and unselfishly offered to give us so much for free. Yet instead of appreciating Mother Nature, we've chosen to betray her. We've turned what was once an Eden into a toxic world, and it's only a matter of time before the destabilizing, harmful practices we've adopted to feed an expanding human population come back to haunt us in a devastating way. ....The alarm bells are ringing, folks. We have reached the limit of the planet's ability to absorb our pollution and environmental devastation. I sadly predict the human species if not mature enough to make the necessary forward-thinking changes, and that it will only learn from disaster. That disaster is coming. Prepare to live in a world where food becomes desperately scarce. Prepare to see the human population collapse in almost precisely the same way the honeybee populations are collapsing. As go the insects, so go humans. |

| Thanks Kritty, Report from New Scientist Feb 2009: "A third of our food relies on bees for pollination. Both the US and UK report losing a third of their bees last year. Other European countries have seen major die-offs too: Italy, for example, said it lost nearly half its bees last year. The deaths are now spreading to Asia, with reports in India and suspected cases in China." Honeybees under attack on all fronts - environment - 16 February 2009 - New Scientist Government muppets BBC NEWS | Politics | Dying bees 'were not a priority' I tend to agree with this guys comment: "Infections, lack of food, pesticides and breeding" - These have been present for a long time now. But the phenomenon of die off has been seen to explode only recently. Personally i think there are things that changed in the last few years and those things made this happen." Jo xxx |

| Totally agree Joey...... I remember a day when kids used to eat dirt and never get sick. They're trying to tell us now that the reason for all this is because we are obsessed with cleanliness. what a bunch of horsedung. How many horrific diseases have their orgins in 'soil' today that weren't there in past years? xoKrittsterioonie |

| I'm studying Paraquat, comparing pictures and the relationship to Baculo over at LB. Paraquat is a contact herbicide, highly toxic to humans and nature and I found this interesting according the bee die offs: If anyone is interested, here's the link: LymeBusters - Bannanny's specimens....post 26 - 30 Bee poisoning link with paraquat An animal poisoning report has revealed a number of bee deaths related to paraquat sprayed on genetically modified rape crops The report highlights a number of poisonings involving beneficial insects. The majority of these incidents involved honey bees killed through paraquat sprayed on GM rape. GM crops are only permitted to be planted in the UK on government approved trials, so when it was discovered that commercially sold Hyola rape was contaminated with GM seeds, the crops were destroyed using paraquat. The spraying occurred on dry calm days, and although some farmers contacted local beekeepers prior to spraying in most cases the vicinity of beekeepers was not known to the sprayer, and in one case the farmer thought that the herbicide was ‘bee friendly’. Many bee colonies were affected, and one beekeeper kept his colonies closed for 18 hours until dusk the day after spraying but his hives were still ‘seriously affected’. guess! who is behind all this?..huh, huh, huh? | hmm..hurtin..that's interesting..haven't looked into your theory very much yet..but I will..spider dna is involved..you're right about that..but I don't think they are the main causative agent, but surely part of it! Kat |
