| here is a super cool link. showing a parasite that literally take over the brains of insects. it is a fungus. i belive it resides in the rainforest. well, we may have morgellons disease but i am glad i dont have this very creepy thing! looking at this makes me really not want to eat mushrooms right now. prepare to be amazed! here is the link to be spellbound by sheer weirdness : http://www.flixya.com/parasite-that-...ins-of-insects i almost wonder with morgellons disease that if it is true that the fibers exude pheromones to attract insects, if the fungal aspect of the disease does something to make the insects attack us. especially in the case of springtail and columbine which normally do not bother man. i'll tell ya a secret. my house has had spiders. i have had this creepy vision of the black specks hitching a ride on them to get to other places. i also wonder if the fungal aspect carries the contagion of the disease itself, and can use an insect vector to infiltrate one's body.what is REALLY scary is what the narrator says at the end. he says that any ANIMAL that gets too numerous can be affected by this fungus. WE are animals! this is REALLY creeping me out, folks. LC here's a link with drawings: http://www.mycolog.com/Clavicipitaceae.htm |

| Icky, creepy, alarming!! I think most people don't realize that a fungus is parasitic. I thought it was interesting how the other ants remove the infected ants away from the colony. How creeeeepy was the fungus growing out of the head like a worm. Eeeeeew! ![]()

| And if you noticed, it had already hardened and released spores into the air affecting more around. The hardening part I found very strange. If I were that ant I would bs (that's my surrender flag) right away.
