Let's get back to acid/alkaline I find it very hard to get my body alkaline. Too much lemon/lime causes herpe outbreaks.
In the "vitamin D cure" by Dowd, he recommends lean high quality animal protein—grass fed and vegetables to raise your PH. That's it pretty much. You figure out how much protein your body needs by dividing you weight by half (work with grams). That figure is what you eat in protein per day.
The relationship of protein to veggie is 1 part animal to 3 times the amount of veggie. If you want to up your protein, then make sure you up your veggie relationally. Plus take the proper amount of Vit. D.
He scoffs at salt, sugar, coffee, grains and beans (not enough bang for most fully beneficial protein) and alcohol. He says salt ends up depleting potassium and that potassium/magnesium and calcium need to be in proper balance for health.
I tried his diet for a few weeks. It's pretty limiting. I was able to raise my PH, and my arthritis which flared terribly at the onset of this disease, calmed right down. I'm walking better than the last 3 years. So I think he's onto something in terms of health benefits.
However, eating this way caused me to have to eliminate up to 7 times a day and gave me diarrhea. At this rate, I'll disappear soon.
My question to you, is how else can we raise the PH of the body besides lemon/lime, salt and veggies? I read here about the baking soda and will look into that. How much baking soda a day? Any supplements that raise the PH? I think magnesium does, but it also caused diarrhea when taken too much. |
