Default Choice of vitamin/supplement manufacturers

I was wondering if there is on maker of vitamins and supplements that better then another. Most of the vitamins I use, I buy from the grocery store (Giant). Are these ok, or am I wasting my money?

Take care all,

John

Hi John,

I am a firm believer in quality vitamins, not the grocery store brands. I like Solaray or Solgar.

Capsules are much better than tablets, because tablets often do not absorb.

An interesting tidbit about vitamins - sewage treatment plants spend millions of dollars trying to clear out the congestion in the tubes and pipes from all the tons of vitamins that people are "pooped" out that hadn't absorbed in their bodies.

Kinda gross, but telling.

I agree with the above statement... also, be wary of some vitamins sold by pharmacies... find out the country of origin. If it says "distributed by..."..be wary and do your research to find out where the vitamins are manufactured. Do not use if manufactured in China, for ex.

Health food stores tend to cary higher quality supplements like Gaia. Try to stay clear of unwanted preservatives in vitamins like BHT and yellow/red dyes.
There are some great pharmaceutical grade (purity, well-controlled manufacturing, very high quality) stores online, but most of the time, you need a referring physician or naturopathic practitioner in order to get a customer ID to order from there.

Absolutely it's a MUST to use high quality vitamins. I use Solgar when possible. Price is no object when you think of the medications people have to take when they don't get quality vitamins. It's an expense, but there's nothing we can do about it. Also Codex Alimentarius is trying to take away our rights to even BUY vitamins without a prescription. (way to go big pharma and gov)

check out Health Freedoms and if they sell vitamins, buy from them. Also, check out Dr. Joseph Mercola on Natural Health Products and Articles and buy from him.

p.s. I got about 4" of snow...how about you??? (it's turned to slush now ;-(
