First I want to share with my Morg friends that I'm sitting on the porch with an awesome quiet but steady rain, listening to it pour on the awnings of the house next door (one of my most favorite things in life.) I began the day with energy (mental at least) and determined to get some WORK done and pay some (grrrr) bills. Then I decided to stop and smell the flowers (rain) and do the thing I love doing best. Research and Morgellons communication. (most normal people plan vacations or something LOL...) Anywho....last night I had a thought. (love when that happens) The MSG connection to my big fat belly. You see, although there can be many reasons for my sudden physical resemblance to a kangaroo or a woman in her 18th month of pregnancy, including menopause, fatty liver, abdominal disease, cutting down on amount of exercise I normally get because of chronic fatigue and a ****ty winter/spring weather....I thought of ONE thing I have done over the last year that I had not before. And although I never eat processed foods, I have to admit I became addicted to a brand of canned soup (in spite of my angel on the shoulder who says, "are you KIDDING me with this?") that is so soothing and easy to get at for instant gratification (which I need a lot of these days)....... I had a eureka! I googled MSG and weight gain and lo and behold...OMG!!! I don't know if this is responsible at all or in conjunction with everything else, but....I'm cutting it out for sure. Do you know that MSG is actually BEING SPRAYED ON OUR CROPS????? ![]() WHERE DOES IT END??? WHO'S MINDING THE FREAKING STORE???? Before I go back to my rain and sounds and soul replenishment before the crowds come in for the weekend.....I'll include some links, etc. this is disgusting. love, Kritts I'll send in separate post. xoxoo

¬MSG About MSG MSG is a food additive found in almost all commercially prepared food. It supercharges the taste of food, but not in the way you would think. MSG fools your brain into thinking the food you're eating tastes really great. MSG is an excitotoxin to the brain. When we consume food containing MSG, it excites the brain into the mass production of dopamine, creating a drug rush that gives us a brief sensation of well being. And because MSG is highly addictive, we keep coming back for more and end up overeating. In the process, we end up destroying our brain cells. Food processors love MSG because it makes cheap ingredients taste great. And because it comes from an amino acid, it can be added to foods labeled 'natural' or 'organic'. It's very hard to find any canned or packaged soup, dried soup mixes, prepared meals, fast food, junk food, or Chinese food that does not contain MSG. It's in prepared gravy, salad dressing, seasoning blends and mixes, canned beans, bullion cubes, broths, chili and stews. Stores that cater to the health conscious carry many of these MSG containing items. Because the food buying public does not want to consume MSG, food processors have gone to extremes to be sure that you don't know it is in their products, and this has been allowed by the FDA. You will seldom see MSG listed on the label, because it is disguised. Here are the names of some of the disguises: Hydrolyzed vegetable protein, autolyzed vegetable protein, textured vegetable protein, hydrolyzed yeast extract, autolyzed yeast extract, plant protein extract, sodium caseinate, calcium caseinate, yeast extract, textured whey protein, natural flavor. Most processed food for children also contains high levels of MSG, such as canned or packaged spaghetti, alphabet soup and chicken noodle soup, microwavable cups, packaged dinners and much more. A meal of this food can raise the blood level of excitotoxins to a value proven in primates to destroy brain cells. A child's brain is four times more sensitive to damage by excitotoxins than is the brain of an adult. Researchers from the Universita degli Studi di Milano tested the ability of chemical derivatives of guanosine 5'-phosphate (GMP) to enhance the flavor of MSG. In doing so, they were building on prior research showing that GMP and inosine 5'-monophosphate disodium salt (IMP) increase the intensity of glutamate. "Systematic sensory studies on this synergism revealed that the umami intensity of aqueous solutions of MSG increased exponentially when IMP (or GMP) was added even in very low concentrations," lead researcher Paola Cairoli said. All the derivatives tested were between 1.2 and 5.7 times more effective at enhancing MSG than IMP had been in prior studies. According to Jacqueline Marcus from Jacqueline B. Marcus & Associates, MSG is appealing to the food industry because it can be used to reduce the sodium content of foods without affecting flavor. In the same way, the IMP and GMP derivatives currently being researched could eventually achieve the same effect with even less MSG being used. Check your food labels to know how common are these dangerous ingredients? Check the ingredients labels of the food in your pantry right now. Look for yeast extract, aspartame or monosodium glutamate. Also check for any ingredient that's hydrolyzed or autolyzed. If you spot any of these, you have excitotoxins in your food! You'll find these excitotoxins in: Diet soda "Sugar-free" drinks and sweets Canned soups Frozen pizza Vegetarian foods, including veggie burgers Snack chips Diabetic foods Salad dressing Breakfast sausage Beef jerky and chicken strips Frozen foods, even "natural" ones Instant dinner mixes Baby food Ranch-flavored dips and sauces Gravy mixes and dip mixes Bullion cubes and flavor packets ... and hundreds of other grocery products and restaurant foods. The Flavor Enhancer MSG Linked to Weight Gain, Obesity Just another major toxin that could very well be having sex with evil and producing disease.

Here is some more info, Krittsi, Monosodium glutamate - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Monosodium glutamate, also known as sodium glutamate and MSG, is a sodium salt of the non-essential amino acid glutamic acid. It is used as a food additive and is commonly marketed as a flavour enhancer. Although traditional Asian cuisine had often used seaweed extract, which contains high concentrations of glutamic acid. The Ajinomoto company was formed to manufacture and market MSG in Japan; the name 'Ajinomoto' means "essence of taste". It was introduced to the United States in 1947 as Ac'cent flavor enhancer.[6] Modern commercial MSG is produced by fermentation[7] of starch, sugar beets, sugar cane, or molasses. About 1.5 million tonnes were sold in 2001, with 4% annual growth expected.[8] MSG is used commercially as a flavour enhancer. Although once associated with foods in Chinese restaurants, MSG is now used by most fast food chains and in many foodstuffs, particularly processed foods. Just imagine what this stuff could do in our bodies together with that contaminated Soy Sauce!! ...or better not?Kat
