Default Exercise

Just wanted to bring up something very dear to my heart and lifestyle. I bet you didn't realize one of the best things you can do to keep yourself healthy and immune system running at optimum levels is free and available to everyone.
Moderate exercise has been linked to a positive immune system response and a temporary boost in the production of macrophages, the cells that attack bacteria. It is believed that regular, consistent exercise can lead to substantial benefits in immune sytem health over the long-term.

A simple case study: A couple of years ago, well a little more than a few I was a bit of a large kid. I enjoyed the sweets very much and it showed . But the point is I never felt so tired and sick in my life than that period of time ever. One day I just got tired of it all and that's when I started my journey into a more healthy lifestyle and ways. I became a trainer and studied nutrition. I almost changed over night, i could feel the difference in just getting my body in motion. Everyday I felt more healthy and had a new bounce to my step. I could go on for days talking about this. But the bottom line is this, if you can incorporate some exercise in your life the dividends will pay off for a lifetime.

Take from a former heavy guy, even a little exercise will go a long way in making you a much more healthy individual.

gee, Franky no wonder why such a babe and not stuck up at all and so nice, lol. that is so COOL. well, i admit i enjoy walking quite a bit, i figure if don't use it ill lose it. gee, you are quite intelligent, too can all of us on the board KEEP you? no, in all seriousness, we are grateful to you, i think if hadnt found this board i could be crippled by now and covered in lesions and would have no doctor. i have had weight fluctuations in my lifetime too. i tend to agree exercise is good, and the flow of endorphins is an immune system booster (as well as the body's natural painkillers). the accomplishment you have made is great, thanks for sharing. Work it out Franky!! I know that Italian mothers love to love with food!! I was a competitiive figure skater my whole life and then went off to college and skated exhibition and cheered.

Anyway, whenever I don't exercise, I come down with something - the blues, a cold, etc. Unfortunately, since I've returned from my NY trip with this bug, the only exercising I've been doing is moving furniture, dragging bags of possessions to the garage or garbage, and cleaning and cleaning and cleaning. My neighbor told me my arms looked liked Madonnas(which personally, I believe to be a bit malnourished), but I am a firm believer in exercise.

I was very concerned about my condition - looks and contagious or not, but I was told by my doctor to sweat daily!! He specifically told me to forget about the gym (I spent 4 - 5 days there prior to this) and run and ride outside.

It's time to take everyone's advice and not worry about the condition of my condo right now.

Thanks for the kick in the butt.

Melissa

That's it. . .gotta get back to that treadmill and Total Gym! Thanks for the inspiration, Franky. When I was running on my treadmill and working out on the Total Gym, I never got sick and felt the healthiest during that time. Why did I ever give it up?!!

Getting healthy and learning the metric system. A paperclip sideways is a millimeter. A paperclip frontways is a centimeter. A paperclip stretched all the way out is a decimeter. 1 meter is about the size of a boogie board. WTG

friski when I was a trainer that was the number 2 question I always got. The first of course was how to lose weight. But it seems that cellulite is mostly from your genes in other words its your body structure. In fact Cellulite has been found to be indistinguishable from ordinary fat in every medical and scientific test. The only known way to reduce the appearance of cellulite is to reduce overall body fat by altering diet or exercise, although it may remain visible even on very slim women. Oh the perils of being a woman.
