Default Seeds of Deception

What the biotech industry doesn't want you to know

The explosive exposé Seeds of Deception reveals how industry manipulation and political collusion-not sound science-allow dangerous genetically engineered food into your daily diet. Company research is rigged, alarming evidence of health dangers is covered up, and intense political pressure applied.

Chapters read like adventure stories:

Scientists were offered bribes or threatened. Evidence was stolen. Data was omitted or distorted.
Government employees who complained were harassed, stripped of responsibilities, or fired.
Laboratory rats fed a GM crop developed stomach lesions and seven of the 40 died within two weeks. The crop was approved without further tests.
When a top scientist tried to alert the public about his alarming discoveries, he lost his job and was silenced with threats of a lawsuit.
Read the actual internal memos by FDA scientists, warning of toxins, allergies, and new diseases-all ignored by their superiors, including a former attorney for Monsanto. Discover how industry studies are designed to avoid finding problems. Learn why the FDA withheld information from Congress after a genetically modified supplement killed nearly a hundred people and disabled thousands.

Eating such experimental food is gambling with your health. Find out how you can protect yourself and your family.

Jeffrey Smith is a master storyteller. His style captivates and charms, while his meticulously documented facts leave no doubt about a massive injustice.

It is an eye-opener of a book.

This book reads like a Grisham novel - but the most terrifying aspect of it is that it is all true. This book contains information that every person should have an opportunity to review before making the choice as to whether they are prepared to endorse GM technologies. This book should be read cover to cover by every politician who is responsible for determining what we, as consumers, are ultimately forced to accept.

This book should be placed in the hands of every food manufacturer so that they have some inkling of the potential impact that their raw material choices may have on consumers, and therefore choose wisely. This book should be given to every supermarket owner / manager so that they may make more intelligent and healthy decisions when determining what they will put on their shelves.

Seeds of Deception is an up to date, illuminating investigation into the major cover-up by the biotech industry and U.S. FDA concerning the safety of genetically engineered foods. Jeffrey Smith documents how lies, omissions, scientific data distortions, and other deceptions were routinely carried out to promote the false notion that G.E. foods were proven safe when there was no evidence to support this position. His research supports why these radical new G.E. foods have an enormous potential to create new toxins, allergies and diseases without any oversight system in place to label and track these foods.

Smith's book is a must read for consumers, activists, the food industry, policy makers, and elected officials who are concerned about the safety of the American food supply. Smith describes how the FDA and industry covered up the many deaths and injuries in the U.S. from Showa Denko's genetically engineered L-Tryptophan in the late 1980s in an effort to deflect potential public outrage against the biotech industry. Smith exposes the fact that FDA officials knew as early as 1990 that Showa Denko had been using a genetically engineered strain associated with the defective L-Tryptophan.

Smith's book is a powerful wakeup call about the extent to which industry and government will go to promote unsafe and potentially illegal practices to the consuming public. Seeds of Deception is a must read!

Hi tara,

Sorry I missed this in Nov '07.

I hope people will go back and read this again. It makes so much sense.

Where have all the honey bees gone?
Long time passing.
Where have all the honey bees gone?
Long time ago.
Where have all the honey bees gone? To fields of GM corn.

When will we ever learn?
When will we ever learn?

And you may say "why would the government lie to me?" Think about it. Go read this. Open your mind.

They are not only genetically modifying our food they are doing the same to insects. They are spraying our deli meats and vegetables. They are using pheromones to control insects that are sprayed aerially that stay in our bodies for months. Wonder why the bugs suddenly like us so much hmmmm.................
