Default recipies

Linda had a great idea to start a recipe section.
Im going to start with coffee, although its not that great for us because of its acidity lots of us refuse to give up our morning joe! Heres what i do to make it more alkaline......

Take coffee grinds and grind them up with half coconut, unsweetened shredded kind. This will add natural sweetness and take the bitter bite out of the coffee as well as make it more alkaline.
Add soy or almond milk and stevia to taste (alkaline also)

You can also add coconut milk , its really really good :P but I found even in small amounts it acts as a laxative!

Enjoy! :P

Well if we have enough people with recipe ideas, I would make a section just for healthy recipes. Sounds like a good idea.

YEH! THANKS FRANKI,
My friends and family call me up and make requests for my vegetable soup. My best friend calls it "Liquid Gold".
It is economical, low acid, and non-fat. Try it once without varying from the recipe. Here it is for all to enjoy.
6 cups of water
1 large can of whole tomatoes (squish them with your hands)
2 large onions chopped
1/2 a family size bag of frozen baby lima beans
Start these first 4 ingredients in a large stew pot and bring to a boil. Reduce heat cover and cook until almost tender (20 mins) and then add:
Corn cut from two ears of corn
6-8 large carrots sliced
Continue to cook at a slow boil for another 15-20 minutes and then add:
1/3 jar of OxHerb no msg chicken and herb boullion powder and then add:
1 rough chopped head of cabbage
Continue to cook at a slow boil, covered, until barely tender and then add:
3 peeled and sliced yellow squash
Continue to cook at a slow boil, covered, until barely tender. Now stir well and adjust chicken boullion to taste. I usually add a little more. I use no additional seasonings. Serve with fresh french bread with a pat of organic butter and a big glass of mineral water. My gosh it doesn't get much better that this! I wish I had a pot cooked right now....prayers...Linda

Hey everyone,
Today I am going to make my soup! Here's my bread recipe that I make with it. It's a snap if you have a bread machine because it does all the kneading for you. (Put the ingredients in the order listed in your machine)
FRENCH HERB BREAD
1 1/4 cup WARM WATER
1 1/2 Tbs of vinegar
1 1/2 tsp of salt
2 Tbs of rye flour
3 cups of unbleached bread flour
2 1/4 tsp of dry yeast
1 tsp of basil
1 tsp of oregano
1 tsp of thyme
3 cloves of garlic run through press
Put your machine on regular large loaf and let it proceed through the kneading to the first rise. As it begins to rise in you machine unplug it. Once it has risen, dump it out on a lightly floured surface. Roll it out into a large rectangle and cut length wise. Fold each half over and pinch the sides with the side of your hand. Roll each baguette seam side down and place on a baking sheet dusted with fine corn meal. With a very sharp knife or razor cut top of loaf with 1/4 inch diagonal slashed at 2 inch intervals. Cover with a kitchen towel and allow to rise for 1-1 1/2 hrs. Preheat oven to 375. Just before you place in the oven spray the walls of the oven with water to make a really crispy crust. Bake for 25 mins until lightly browned. Yummmmmmmmmmmh!....prayers...Linda

I make a desert a lot like you do Friski, but often instead of yogurt (or kefir), I use lowfat ricotta cheese and I add a little unsweetened almond milk. I prefer the liquid English Toffee stevia :P but my CPA (from work) had a really good liquid vanila stevia that I'm going to try and find. I know they don't sell it locally so I'll have to call the number on the bottle or find the website.

I think I'll have to make some now, I have some strawberries that need to be eaten!

K...........we ar just too much alike! I love unsweetened almond milk too and blame it on my recent weight gain! i use the vanillacreme stevia one in yogurt and in the almond milk. Its like a liquid candy bar ! :P
And i make a desert with cottage cheese and soymilk, in the blender. One way is to add chocolate and it comes out like a mousse! i gave up chocolate though.

(I think ive lost 3 pounds now and lost my appetite after my recent photo shoot.)
