Default Hair cut

Hi all,

I finally did it! I went and got my hair cut. It has been about 18 months since my last one. Wow.... what a big difference for me. After bathing dealing with my hair has been "exasperating". It was long, felt like straw and would just be a matted mess. Now my hair is shoulder length cut in layers. So much easier to brush out, just a few minutes instead of 45 minutes and every leave-in conditioner I could find.
I had been putting off getting my hair cut because it looked so bad, and the white hairs. I didn't know what to say if asked.
Amazing how anger can get you to do some things. I had taken a shower and was brushing, trying to brush out this "mess" called hair. Once I had the last tangle out, I grabbed my purse and went to the first supercuts I saw and said
"f--- it" and walked in there and demanded a cut. LOL. (no demanding).
Anyways, I offered the statement to the stylist that I have been on medication and it has really effected my hair. She said she knows that some medicines do that and she hears that a lot. That was it. No questioning of anything except for "how short"?
What a fool I have been for waiting soooooo long to go. If any of you are having the "matted morgellons look" just go and get a little cut. Don't worry about what to say, use the medication thing like I did it and it nipped the questions in the butt.
I am not sure if I should say this but.... my hair actually looks kind-a cute. Wow, it's been a long time since I have been able to say that.
I still have the white hair issue but I will save that for another board. Besides, I knew a hair cut wouldn't have anything to do with that but boy, it sure made a difference for me. I am smiling, and I actually will look in the mirror when I pass by one now.
Take care my friends,
Ghettogirl

Awesome GG glad to hear you feel better. It took a long time to get my hair grown aout again. John Feida has excellent foam haircolor its new can do at home. I like it.

You might also look online for Dr. Miracles 2_n-1 Tingling Formula Shampoo it has clove leaf oil and peppermint oil and feels fantastic. It really is great for the scalp and in the past have also used it as a bodywash.

You're no fool, GG. I think it's normal to worry about whether someone might notice. You had such a clever explanation. I'm so glad you feel so much better.

That's good news GG. Glad to hear you have some hair freedom now and that it's making you feel better as well as pretty. That was a good explanation you gave the hair dresser.

Some people have bumps in their scalps and/or lesions or missing patches of hair. I am trying to think how someone could explain these issues. Maybe say radiation treatments? Not sure that would fit. I do not have these problems, but I know that for some it can be a reason to not have hair cuts. Any other suggestions?

Oh, and for dry, straw like hair? Thyroid. That has been a problem for me in the past. It may also cause the hair to thin.
