My CBC's have always been normal.

Here's a bit about platelet count:

# Platelet (thrombocyte) count. Platelets (thrombocytes) are the smallest type of blood cell. They are important in blood clotting. When bleeding occurs, the platelets swell, clump together, and form a sticky plug that helps stop the bleeding. If there are too few platelets, uncontrolled bleeding may be a problem. If there are too many platelets, there is a chance of a blood clot forming in a blood vessel. Also, platelets may be involved in hardening of the arteries (atherosclerosis).

# Mean platelet volume (MPV). Mean platelet volume measures the average amount (volume) of platelets. Mean platelet volume is used along with platelet count to diagnose some diseases. If the platelet count is normal, the mean platelet volume can still be too high or too low.

Mine have been low since I was 12... many moons ago.
I no longer do allopathic medicine so I don't know and I don't care.
They were low two years ago last time I checked.

Hello Lamb, and thank you for your reply. That is interesting that they have been low for most of your life. Have they ever attempted to put you on any kind of medication? Right now all I do is vit. K for my situation.

i took iron in various forms throughout my "fertile " years (13-46) and I have suffered from sinusitis (shoulda had a T&A) and acidosis since then.
I was pretty much infertile..one live birth, 17 spontaneous abortions.

I repeat...I do not believe in allopathic medicine anymore.

Strange that you bring this up because last night I was able to log in and view lab test I've had done at the local hospital since 2002. I noticed that in all of them my red blood cell count and platelet count were low. I've also had an enlarged spleen for several years. I was always told I wasn't anemic and nothing was wrong. Makes me wonder though.

For a side note, I still have all the same problems I've had (lesions with mystery things coming out), fatigue, moodiness, etc. It's going on five years now and still no help from doctors. Wonder what it will finally take to get answers...

Hi Janice,

My hemoglobin, erythrocytes and Hematocrit tested low. When 5 of us got tested at the same time, two results were below the normal range for all of us:

Lymphocytes and in particular natural killer cells CD57+

Jo

Default Hi to All!

I know these blood test can be a concern. My doc wants me to see a Hematologist. Every thing else is in range except my AST, ALT witch I am not sure what that is. My platelet count is crazy low.
I am going on vacation in the morning so I will see one when I get back. I think this could be very interesting. They do alot of interesting test.
Talk to you when I get back. Janice
