| Afraid this probably is a taste of Obamacare with a new spin in the US? TCM are you from the UK? If so what exactly do you mean by this? I'm guessing that is what they do in the UK already? Correct me if I am wrong. No I am not an Obama fan just trying to figure out outside few points.

| No, Cyn, not from UK. Just my observation after having read some about health care in UK. I really don't know if the attitude I am discussing here is the exact same in the UK, but I know folks do have to wait for operations and other care. I think that what is going on in the US as far as what I like to call obamadontcare is frightening. Some of the people involved in the administration are very extreme radicals who appear to find that eugenics is a good way to go, as far as controlling what to them are "too many people." I found it very interesting that the top person in this admin, the very top man, said that he felt if a person was very old that they should maybe be given a pain pill rather than the care that a younger person would receive. Truly scary stuff. If you are over 65 then hospitals may become a very frightening place indeed as whether you are treated or not treated (and left to die) will be in the hands of these types of "benevolent" bureaucrats, not doctors:

| TCM, I remember this discussion (and my emotions afterwards) clearly. I was very touched by this women and her mother. To me he was speaking out both sides of his xxx. ".......we as a culture & society need to make better decisions within families and for ourselves" "We can let your Dr. know and your mom know you would be better off ......." Yes WE need to make good decisions for ourselves and I know who that we is. I'm afraid the better decisions, (changes) to "culture and society" he references will take the WE I know and understand out of the majority of the equation. Who exactly the we is that would let your Dr. know and Mom know it would be better to take a pill than have an operation is, is what is frightening. I'll be xxxxxx if anyone but me, my family, my mother and her Dr's will interfere with our decisions. Who benefits most by taking that pill? That wouldn't be pharmaceuticals would'nt it? I certainly don't want to be one getting appropriate care while my friends mother is left to die because of her age with no consideration for her "spirit" or "quality of life" left. | A talk by a person who endorsed Obama for president. I think he tells it as so many of the people in the administration actually believe about health care for the average person. It is hard to accept that many elected officials think that this type of health care is high moral behavior or that the government has a right to interfere in a person's private medical care decisions. Notice in the excerpt below that even IF you yourself have enough money to pay for the health care you want without the involvement of any insurance, it looks as if under this draconian law you will be denied access to it. 1984 and much worse, yes, indeed. No wonder some doctors will quit practicing medicine. Anyone with a conscience would find it VERY hard to work under such conditions. And it makes you wonder about the moral character of any of the doctors who would elect to serve under such regulations. What kind of pills will be given out then? So now you know why the candidate who won the presidency did not say any of this before the election. No, he deceived the electorate who did not do any research ahead of the election. Internet research before the last election would have easily revealed the direction this group of radicals was headed. I posted some of what I found here before the elections. Well, I am sure they themselves are not at all worried. After all they will have wonderful medical care paid for by average citizens. Too bad for the rest of us peons: A little about what the health care bill entails: The Obama Health Care Rationing Law: The Commission That Will Develop Standards the Administration Will Impose to Limit Private Sector Medical Care An 18-member “Independent Payment Advisory Board” [Sec. 10320(b)] is given the duty, on January 15, 2015 and every two years thereafter, with regard to private health care, to make “recommendations to slow the growth in national health expenditures . . . that the Secretary [of Health and Human Services] or other Federal agencies can implement administratively” [Section 10320(a)(5)(o)(1)(A)]. In turn, the Secretary of Health and Human Services is empowered to impose “quality” AND “efficiency” measures [Section 10304] on health care providers (including hospices, ambulatory surgical centers, rehabilitation facilities, home health agencies, physicians and hospitals) [Section 3014(a) adding Social Security Act Section 1890(b)(7)(B)(I)] which must report on their compliance. In complex gobbledegook, what this amounts to is that doctors, hospitals, and other health care providers will be told by Washington just what diagnostic tests and medical care is considered to meet “quality” and “efficiency” standards – not only for federally funded health care programs like Medicare, but also for health care paid for by private citizens and their nongovernmental health insurance. And these will be “quality and efficiency” standards specifically designed to limit what ordinary Americans spend on health care. Treatment that a doctor and patient in consultation deem needed or advisable to save that patient’s life or preserve or improve the patient’s health but which the government decides is too costly – even if the patient is willing and able to pay for it – will run afoul of the imposed standards. In effect, there will be one uniform national standard of care, established by Washington bureaucrats and set with a view to limiting what private citizens are allowed to spend on saving their own lives. (For detailed analysis of other provisions that will impose rationing, see Analysis of Senate Bill passed 12-23-2009.) The Obama Health Care Rationing Law

| TCM What do you think might happen to alternative health care options? I don't like being limited much. Do you? A little guidance and structure growing up is good. I'm ALL GROWND UP NOW and want to make my own decisions. If there is a better place for this let me know. If anyone is interested here are some links to the health care bill. | Hi there Skylark and Livewell, I am finding the conversations on some of the threads lately to be very interesting. There has been some discussion of cutaneous larva migrans on the forum in the past, especially on one thread so I thought I would post a link here to that thread for those who may not have seen it: Cutaneous Larva Migrans (the backwards start when trying to link is frustrating--Niecy's post towards the beginning of the thread have some interesting information) So sorry Skylark that you had yet another doctor who did not listen to you. Sad as well as exasperating. Also here is the link which highlights what Randy Wymore has said about this nematode in the past: Stromectol/Ivermectin Permalink 7 (sorry this does not come up on the correct post)

No judging just wondering." i'm thinking of the Philip Glass scores for Powanisqatsi, Koyaanasqatsi and Baraka.... Life out of Balance and other films showing Humanity's descent from Nature to Industrialized Society. just a guess. Xib |

| I think they do not what I have, and really believe me, but have been told by someone (either the AMA or CDC) to label me delusional. It may sound like some conspiracy theory, but someone has something to hide with this disease. If we want to be treated like human beings, we are going to have to come out of the closet and brave public announcements to advocate for ourselves and others. My brother died of AIDS in 1992, but he was brave enough to tell all of those southern hypocrites who called him a "sinner" and told him where he was going, to help others understand the disease. He was a famous football player in our area and as such had a forum. He spoke at several places and the press covered him. This may sound like an agenda, but all I want is for us to be treated like any other person who is extremely ill with a dangerous and potentially deadly disease. |
