Live chat Question

Hey all,,was wondering about the "Live chat" section,,and what is the function of it,,,or what special qualities of it...
It seems like just another thread section,,,or did I get stoned and missed it???
Is this a direct line to the president??
Naw,,,really was just wonderin about its features..

If you scroll down to the bottom of the main page it will show you "who is online." You can talk to them real time if you type something in the box and press 'enter.'

It is kind of a place to chat about the time of day and the weather. If you want to discuss important issues it is better to start a thread so many ppl can read it and have the chance to reply.

The things in the "chat box" don't last that long.

Just FYI, some ppl probably don't check the chat box at all. I rarely even glance at it. So you might say, "hi" to someone only to find they seem to be ignoring you. But in reality they probably just don't pay attentino to chat.

Thanks Fracty for explaining...I guess we could have a group meeting there(of sorts),,if we wanted,,huh...
I thought it was something else that got abandoned along the way....]
Would like to give it a whirl(meeting),,,might be fun...
