Terri, I don't think Bubba ever said she was cured. She had the symptoms under control due to the toxic meds she was taking.
We now more about health than we knew then and taking loads of anti-biotics etc is the last thing you should be doing.
I can find Bubba 's e-mail for you if you want to get in touch but I think she will tell you the same thing .
What do the other Members think of this subject?

Default Med info

Dearest Terri,

Good to hear from ya. Sorry to hear that your eyes are still causing you grief.

Here's the medical page from Morg UK which may be of use on traditional medical info:
Morgellons UK - Awareness Campaign 2009 - Support: Medical Information

I remember Bubba saying symptoms subsided but not sure if cured, as Carls questions. The meds Bubba mentioned were to treat Chlamydia pneumonia, along with Borrelia and Babsia.

Also she didnt list any problems with her eyes, although this is a common morgie issue.

Because your eye problem sounds critical Terri, antibiotics and/or antifungals may be needed to clear the infection.

Morgies often talk of progress with clarithromycin, which according to this study appears good for anti-biofilm activity in inflamed eyes:

Assessment of the effect of oral clarithromycin on...[Curr Eye Res. 2000] - PubMed Result

Love, hugs and prayers

Terri, haven't you mentioned that you are hyperthyroid? It sounds to me as if many of your eye problems (which you discussed in earlier posts) may be the result of this condition:

Hyperthyroid Eye Disease

Graves' disease may be associated with particular eye changes.
The eye changes are called hyperthyroid eye disease and occur in about 30 percent of people with Graves' disease. These changes are visible as protruding eyes. There is no relationship between the appearance of eye changes and the severity of the hyperthyroidism. There is increased risk for infection and visual problems in persons with severe hyperthyroid eye disease.

Eye disease is most likely to progress in people who fit a certain profile. This includes those:
  • Whose hyperthyroidism is not promptly corrected and controlled
  • Whose thyroid hormonelevel is not within normal limits
  • Who smoke cigarettes
The autoimmune process that causes hyperthyroid eye disease is poorly understood. Doctors do understand that there is swelling of tissues behind the eyeball, decreased range of motion of the muscles around the eyeball, and retraction (a pulling back) of the eyelids.

Common symptoms include pain, excessive tearing, increased sensitivity to light, blurred vision, double vision, or protrusion of the eyes from the face.

Most people with hyperthyroid eye disease do not need any treatment beyond special eye drops. When more extensive care is required, treatments may be needed to decrease the pressure on the eyeball. This increase in pressure is the result of tissue swelling in the eye sockets. Additional treatment may be required to increase the range of motion (ROM) of the eyes or to improve the cosmetic appearance of bulging eyes. These may include:
  • Treatment with certain drugs such as steroidsor immunosuppressive drugs to decrease the swelling behind the eyes.
  • External radiation therapy to decrease swelling behind the eyes.
  • Surgery to remove a small portion of bone from the eye socket.
  • Treatment with certain medications such as steroids or immunosuppressive drugs to help improve eye muscle function and increase range of eye muscle movements.
  • Plastic surgery to improve the appearance of eyes or eyelids
How-To Information:
When discussing treatment options, it is important to discuss several issues with your ophthalmologist including:
  • Your chief concern about your eyes
  • How will this concern be treated
  • The chief medical concern from the eye doctor's perspective
  • How will treatment address his or her concerns
  • The presence of additional, significant medical conditions
  • How the proposed treatment plan affects these pre-existing conditions
  • The timing of treatment steps and the particular order of these possible treatments. For instance, it may be advisable to correct abnormally high or low levels of thyroid hormone before beginning additional treatment.
More discussion here:

Hyperthyroidism: Thyroid Gland Disorders: Merck Manual Home Edition

If the cause of hyperthyroidism is Graves' disease, eye symptoms include puffiness around the eyes, increased tear formation, irritation, and unusual sensitivity to light. Two distinctive additional symptoms may occur: bulging eyes (exophthalmos—see Eye Socket Disorders: Proptosis) and double vision (diplopia). The eyes bulge outward because of inflammation in the orbits behind the eyes. The muscles that move the eyes become inflamed and unable to function properly, making it difficult or impossible to move the eyes normally or to coordinate eye movements, resulting in double vision. The eyelids may not close completely, exposing the eyes to injury from foreign particles and dryness. These eye changes may begin before any other symptoms of hyperthyroidism, providing an early clue to Graves' disease, but most often occur when other symptoms of hyperthyroidism are noticed. Eye symptoms may even appear or worsen after the excessive thyroid hormone secretion has been treated and controlled.

When Graves' disease affects the eyes, there may also be thickening of the skin, usually over the shins, which has the texture of an orange-peel. The thickened area may be itchy and red and feels hard when pressed with a finger. As with deposits behind the eyes, this problem may begin before or after other symptoms of hyperthyroidism are noticed.
