| This is D of J and D in NH. I am interested in any humorous events we might share because there's often humor everywhere, even in the most difficult conditions. Before we discovered this site, by trial and error we had developed a less effective and more toxic way of dealing. I was teaching a class and could only safely do this by taking a sponge bath with rubbing alcohol and then covering myself head to toe with a coconut oil based cream we made up with essential oils. This would give me a safe window of 4 hours in which I felt I could do my job and harm no one and also encourage no new "bites". As the students filed in I noticed one was wearing a beautiful sweater that had a large moth riding on the back. I normally like moths but my feeling about things like this was more in question and seeing the moth put me on guard. The class went very well in every respect. I was communicating well. No unusual sensations. Then on the top of my head I suddenly felt a tingling and a kind of explosion. I looked up and everyone was looking at the top of my head. Before a dark wave of despair crashed inside me I picked up the next topic and kept lecturing, made it through. As I drove home I was vowing to hand in my resignation and wondering if I had been sloppy in my cleansing ritual. I got home and sat in front of the TV feeling more than a little bad when suddenly the image of that moth came back to me. What a surprise that moth must have had trying to land on my head. It must have been a humorous sight seeing the moth blast off after landing on my bug repellant soaked head. D |

| Oh my. Just visualized the whole thing. Too funny! ![]() I had a similar experience with bugs dying on toxic sheets I took to India that were soaked in permethrin. My daughter got a kick out it. I also had my head cloaked with a scarf that was treated with some kind of natural bug repellent. Never got head lice which everyone seems to have there. I wish I knew what products they were. They were given to me in unmarked bottles as a gift before we left for India. They were all-natural, safe products, and smelled good too.
