Belle, you might also consider alternative care, a naturopath or acupuncturist. Many here have benefited from this type of care. I have used TCM extensively. Yes, I agree, word of mouth is usually the best way to find doctors, but it is not always easy to find people who know of good doctors especially as many doctors who might be good do not live anywhere you. Where I live now, doctors who are alternative are practically non-existent and the two I know about IMO are not that good. Angie's list could be a sort of substitute for a personal recommendation if this service is online in your area. Health food stores sometimes yield suggestions (other customers, store workers) for alternative care, including doctors who might be alternative. You mention in your post that "I hope I never treated my patients in that manner." In the past were you a health care practitioner of some type? If so, then you certainly fit both of the highest categories for getting Morgellons, health care worker and teacher as Carla pointed out.

Since this doctor has a website I thought it okay to post his name. I don't know that he specifically treats morgellons, but usually alternative doctors will work with you. Be sure to ask about insurance and do a web search to find out as much as you can about any doctor. Alternative doctors often do not take insurance as their treatments are often not recognized by insurance companies.

If anyone has any suggestions for other doctors who may help, I hope you will add that information to this thread. By keeping as much of these searches in one place as we can, it will make it easier for all to research a specific subject.

As an ex-patient of Dirk Budka (his clinics have been mentioned above), I have to strongly advice people to avoid him. He is not a biomedical scientist, and has been recently asked to remove the protected title from his websites by the Health Professions Council. He has no clinical qualifications to practise and his many websites are misleading as there are not lots of clinics - just him in a small consulting room. I would normally not want to say anything negative about anyone, but I got much more ill on Mr Budka's treatment, and have since found others who had a bad experience. Just want to save others from wasting their money.

I am sorry to hear of your bad experience with Mr. Budka. I wonder if you could send me more information about where the health professions council has asked him to remove his protected title. Is he not a microbiologist then? I do not want to leave this information up if it is as you describe.

Hi tcm,

Re Mr Budka, I tried to send you a personal message with the pasted letter from the Health Professions Council, but it seems I can't do it until I've made 3 posts. He has been using their protected title, and he is not registered to do so. This is the awful thing. I wanted to report him after I was made very ill, but then went on to find that he is not registered with any official governing body of any kind, so there was no one to complain to. He has no qualifications to even be practicing.
