| Howdy friends, Guess what! I emailed Carl Zimmer (author of the fantastic book, Parasite Rex I talk so much about) and he said he's be happy to answer any question I posed if he could. Now I'm sure he's sorry '-) He has a new book out called, "Microcosm: E-Coli and the New Science of Life" I watched his interview with George Johnson (an hour long) and it was fascinating. Seems e-coli has been studied for quite some time now by engineers and others. I'm going to order the book, but if you have an hour, it's worth listening to. | Josi, Great! I'm still reading Rex as we speak, in between watching Mr & Mrs Smith (Pitt and Jolie) right now. I'm taking so long because it's such an incredible book and I'm learning so so so much. I'll make an essay soon for you guys if you're interested. All I can say at this point, is that it's no wonder doctors know nothing about parasites. Parasites are the world and we happen to live in it. there are so many more of them than there ever will be of us. I'm on the section now about the origins and development of parasites. Did you know that S. America was once connected to Africa? I didn't. And they were divided but the parasites made the jump. So amazing. Anyway... I had to chill and watch a movie 'cause I was a poor depressed baby today but I'm still filtering the info through as I can. Enjoy!!! Kritts Last edited by Kritters; July 28th, 2008 at 10:48 PM. | Jonsi, I saw your post regarding this video on the other thread about mast cells (it all does blend, doesn't it?) I'm so glad you took the time to watch it. Isn't it amazing? There is so much information in it. So much of what he says (and writes, especially) can reference what we discuss here on the forum from our research. xo Kritts |
