Parkinson's: Strong link with home pesticide use

From the BBC on Friday:

There is strong evidence that exposure to pesticides (herbicides and insecticides) significantly increases the risk of Parkinson's disease, experts believe.

What is interesting is that they mention recreational pesticide use in the home and garden being more of a source of exposure than occupational use. I'm thinking skin treatments (permethrin), as well as the chlorpyrifos etc widely used in gardens. But wait - at about governments and agricultural spraying to keep down pests all over???

Interestingly, a report in 2005 mentioned that, "It's possible that just one or two are causing it, but slipped through the regulatory net."
