Hello Everyone, Was just wondering why we have all the advertisements on the top and bottom of all pages. If you click on them it directly leads you to their website. Is this something these websites pay for? I thought these boards were impartial and no advertising took place. Just curious whether their like spam advertisements or maybe the proceeds of advertising go towards the costs of running this board? Jason

Hi Jason, I thought Franky would be the one to let you know, but he probably hasn't seen your post. I'm GUESSING that he is offsetting some of the costs of running this forum by doing the google ads. It's a great idea for him to do, I think and the ads seem to be relative to this forum to check out or dismiss, whatever. In doing so, we may be getting exposure as well on others' sites. Kritts

Jason since you seem so concerned about them, let me explain. Those are simple google ads, they are good in a way because they show sites that are related to this site and material. They are really intended for all the visitors we get everyday to the site. You can trust me on this, the site makes a pathetic amount. I was hoping it would help with all the bills this site has amounted for me the past 2 years. Just for the record in case people don't know, It costs money to post, post pics, to have have the site up (Hosting Fees every month), to update the site, to add more feature etc.... It even costs money for people just dropping by to read (bandwidth costs). Its not a free site and will always do my best never to ask members for money like so many other places do. I hope this has explained it to you. For the record the money raised hardly causes a dent on the amount of money I have spent on this site and will continue too.

Franky, Can you post a section for donations for those who can? You don't even have Morgellons and you go to this expense. How is your friend, by the way? I hope he is improving. Kritts

I'd be willing to pay for a membership if it comes down to it. It'd be worth every penny with all the help, guidance and friendships I have found on here. Thank you Franky for all your work and for helping all of us!

Oh NO, thank you so much for the kindness, but no donation or money wanted here. ![]() Right now I can afford it, and the costs are within reason and I would hate to receive help from the sick. This is my baby here and made many new friends and learned a lot my self. I will find ways to raise money if need be in the future. I will do everything I can not to ask for donations from the community here. kritters You gave me a great idea. I would love to explain the history of this site and why It was made in the first place. There have been some rumors floating around why it was made and they are wrong. I am off now to work on the post to explain. But be assured this site was made when morgellons was considered a joke, in fact not even a joke because it wasn't even on the map at the time. It was me and like 10 people exchanging info.

Well, Franky, You have accomplished a great undertaking and have developed an incredible community and network for information as well as amazing friendships with fabulous and strong people. If we all had one friend who believes in what we are going through and as dedicated to our personal situations as you have been for your friend, this would be much easier to deal with. I was just mentioning to a forum bud how impossible a situation it is when first of all, most people don't even know about, care about, or practice alternative medicine and they think you're a kook anyway because of it, then you come up with this bizarre disease no one has ever heard of. And then they get the "look" on their faces. It's tough!I admire you and you are that friend for all of us. (no need to blush and acknowledge. Just accept it.) xoxo Kritts

Thanks for the explanation Franky. If you ever find yourself in trouble with the cost etc i am sure we all would be willing to help continue this forum running if that day was ever to happen. Hope i didnt offend i just wasnt too sure if it was spam. Interested to hear the history behind the forum etc and hope your friend is doing well, i hope they use the forum too for help!

Hey Jason no problem. Thanks for understanding and the kind words. I am working on the article on the history of the site and hopefully answer some questions on people minds along the way! Glad you are still with us. I will find ways to cover the future costs of the site, I just cant ask the sick or people in need for money. That would be my absolute LAST OPTION. ![]()
