| Today my boss's granddaughter came into town to visit. She lives in northern California and has a beautiful six-month old baby. She had on navy sweats and I noticed the white "fuzz-balls" on one leg. When I held the little baby he had the red/white/blue-grey fuzz-balls on his pale-blue fleece sleeper. I started to pick at the fibers (kinda rude I know) and said something about darned fuzz-balls and she said "I know, we have them all over and I don't know where they are coming from". I shook my head because no-one at work believes Morgellons is real and I wasn't going to debate with my co-worker on what the fibers mean to me. She asked me what I meant by "darned fibers" and I couldn't stop the tears because it is so frickin horrible that this baby may develop this horrible disease we call Morgellons while we are being told this is delusional. ![]() After I got my composure back I told her that there are skin products available that act as a barrier to protect us from toxins in our environment. I mentioned that my daughter and I have Morgellons (she has never heard of it) and I showed her the tell-tell markers on my face and arms. I put on a happy face because I didn't want to scare her and told her she could call me anytime. As I watched her, her husband and little baby leave the office I wondered if I should have said more. What a delimna. Thanks for listening...jonsi

Hi Jonsi, How can you be 100% sure the fuzz balls you saw related to Morgellons? I am not sure if i would be going around to acquaintances and picking fuzz balls off their clothing and possessions and then stating that you have Morgellons and that their are products out their to protect them after you have got upset in front of them. I understand this is tough to deal with but i have a good idea what she will be thinking because if i had nothing wrong with me and walked through that exact same scenario i know what i would be saying to your boss. And it wouldn't be going out to buy some eco vie to spray around the house. My intention in this post is not to offend but to take a step back and consider whether you should tread a little lighter, it would be a different case if the person came to you saying they were experiencing the symptoms of Morgellons but just the sight of a fuzz ball is a little too early to be providing advice on something they most likely will never have.

I see fuzz balls and fibres on people all the time Jonsi, but stop myself saying anything.I just put it to the back of my mind .Like Jason said before catching this would you have believed it. I dont even tell anyone I ve got Morgellons. If l have to say anything its lyme Disease. Carla XX

Jonsi.... the same has happened to me... One horrible time last year, I went on a course and suddenly noticed white specks on my navy jeans and all over the person sitting next to me. she kept wiping them off but did'nt say anything and nor did I ... like Carla, if I have to explain why I'm not well, I always say it's Lymes and don't ever mention Morg.. BTW this person is fine and did'nt catch anything from me....! Milly x

Jonsi, I agree whole-heartedly with Jason and Carla, although I (as I'm sure they are) majorly empathetic. I go throughit myself. I see these on my grandbaby's clothing. I pick them off and just don't let my kids see that or they will have me commited. We can't control the thoughts and lives of other people. Not only that, we don't know that these things will effect anyone else as they do us, because we don't even know what it is! So, I just look forward to the research being done and try to protect my family as best I can without them thinking I've lost my mind. These specks, IMO are balls of fungi fibers and hopefully if they are not inhaled, there will be no problem, and even if they are, there still may be no problem with someone else's system. xo Kritts

I totally understand how Jonsi feels and wanted to say that I am not disagreeing with her.Nothing about Morgellons is logical. Milly ,How do you find people react when you say you have Lyme? Most people have never heard of it here. carla xxx

Carla, it's very difficult... some people have heard of Lyme but don't really know anything about it and others have never heard of it. But I think it helps to be able to tell people that it's caught through a tick bite and then they feel safer knowing you are not infectious. the whole business of morg is just too difficult and I've found it better to avoid it altogether apart from a few very close friends and family. Lyme is quite enough to cope with and gets you through most problems. But poor Jonsi, I know what it's like, I feel so worried and embarrassed when people near me start to itch and scratch and then I see white bits on them... urggg... But they don't seem to get infected, at least not so far..so try not to worry... Milly x

So, Milly, Carla and Jason..... Since you're from the UK, and you say you have Lyme, I guess that would make you....... Lymies (get it?) Sorry for the levity. I used to laugh in church too.Kritts p.s. I know how the name limies were given so I hope it's not offensive. ![]() Also, that's what I tell people here. I say I have 'something like' Lyme.

Milly It's the same for me.I ve only told a few close people. There s not many things that make Lyme seem simpler but Morgellons is one of them. Kritters,Thats why I love you.Because you'd laugh anywhere ,even in church. ![]() carla xxxxx

Hi Kritts, I was born in Australia and lived most my life there - but i have just learned a new word limies! and the reason for it! I would definitely prefer limies as opposed to convicts to which the aussies are referred to!! The aussies probably deserve it though they hand out their fair share of insults!
