I've seen this picture before from one of you here. the one with the gelatinous blob. (not your chest :-) http://images.google.com/imgres?imgu...&ct=image&cd=1 I have no idea whatsoever if there is any connection here, but I was researching fungus and mold because I put one of my fuzzballs under the scope today and lo and behold, the sucker was actually moving. I so wish I had the camera attachment for my scope that actually takes good photos right now. It was a fuzzball, and two of the (hyphae) extensions were side by side almost touching, met at a point beyond which separated and both moved in different directions out and back in toward each other. For the first time after about 30 slides I actually watched them move ever so boldly. I followed one to the end of it and magnified it and saw it came to not only a point, but what looked like a short needlenose, much like a mosquito. I was thrilled and although I had an enormously huge list of things I had to do......as usual.......focused on looking up fungi and mold again. I did see the exact same thing I usually see on my scope on a site, but they gave no name to that particular picture. DAMN! But I know mine is mold or fungi. It lives around me and in me (not for long.............SAY HELLO TO MY LEETLE FREN!!!!............(Al Pacino in case you didn't know) I'm going to terminate these bas***ds. But anyway, that blob is something I saw coming out of some of your lesions. Kritts

Almost looks like that creepy thing that came out of my face, but no movement. I tried to coax it, but it just wouldn't budge. Ha, ha. Interesting that you found something that moved. Puts more validity to this problem of ours. I've often wondered if it were a mold/fungus issue. I've done research, but came up with nothing that looked familar, until your link. I'll have to dive into a bit more.

Meg, Just to clarify....I don't have that gelatinous blob but came across the link when looking for info on mold and saw that it looked like something someone had posted. My movers were what looked like the hyphae of fungi. all the filaments rolled up in a ball comprising the fuzzballs we all have (most anyway). MIne never moved at first either. This one moved immediately, which astonished me. Happy hunting! ![]() Kritts

Good post, LC~ At least in my case, I know it is a problem. Interesting how the term 'toxic mold' has hit the public in the past few years, yet no one has been informed as to exactly how devastating to health and the mechanism involved by the organisms wreak havoc on our bodies. Once again, downplayed by the CDC. Kritters

It looks like a great site, LC. In fact, I hadn't read your links yet before posting to you...saving for tonight's reading. I like that it gives straight facts without pussyfooting around the subject. I think 'mico'toxic mold is ubiquitous and a prime cause of disease and death around the world. Another (beyond) scary point is that some molds simply cannot be destroyed by heat. This quote from honest Abe echos what I wrote to Runswithscissors earlier: "I am a firm believer in the people. If given the truth they can be depended upon to meet any national crisis. The great point is to bring them the real facts." -- Abraham Lincoln Kritts

Hi Krltts, WOW that's eerie........ I recently moved from very moldy conditions that I'm almost certain screwed up my breathing. Do you notice all the widgets on that caterpillar-like thing? Hope you are well my friend? wth

Hi WTH! Yep, I was thinking of your pictures! Actually some of Chester's as well. Not to say her critters don't have another influence, but I'll bet dollars to donuts mold/fungi is somehow our common link. I am pretty good, thanks sweetie. Hope you are also. xo Kritts

This certainly isn't good. Scary as all get out. It's time for the CDC to take a serious look at mold. In addition, we are not prepared for an endemic or pandemic like the influenza in the U.S. The US government spent tons of money on the west nile virus and are not taking the next influenza seriously enough to be ready when it happens, which it surely will. Not only that, but any serum we need will have to be imported by 50% and if it becomes pandemic, those other countries will not help out unless they are secure themselves. There should be a new ride at Disneyworld called, "It's a MICROSCOPIC world after all" to let people know what's really going on. Kritts
