I will say I know a heck of a lot about Elvis even though he mostly predated my time. My husband has one cool story about Crystal Burger, in Memphis, TN too regarding Elvis too. Want to know? Well ask me if need a distraction from the chaos we endure. I knew a lot about his family and my momma has Vernon Presley's former home behind Graceland. I even have a lock of his hair (Elvis') authenticated by his former barber and notorized and all. Will be fun I promise. Be gossip and fun and mayhem oh my! (LC).

ladycolorado I grew up a major Elvis fan! Still a big fan till this day. There hasn't been a performer quite like him since. He had some really powerful songs esp. as he got older. Love the song in the ghetto.

Cool Franky! I worked at Graceland 89-91 in the gift shops. My mother was a tour guide for the mansion. We knew some of his family my mom knew his aunt Miss Delta used to live in the mansion when alive. I knew his first cousin Harold Loyd a security guard there, and his uncle Vester who used to sell cookbooks in the giftshops. Mom lives in Elvis' dad's home. It has velvet wallpaper in it it is neat. Elvis used to visit his dad by cutting through Gracelands back grounds and my mom's backyard. I have a lock of Elvis' hair no joke, notorized from his former barber in Memphis TN. My husband once saw folks gawking at him in a crytal burger drive through. my husband said "Leave the poor man alone." Elvis gave him the thumbs up. (LC).

Lady C, one of the places on my agenda is to go graceland to visit. I plan to visit in the near future. It should be fun. From what I understand the place is still just as crowded as it was years ago. What is your fave song from Elvis. ???

Indeed, it IS a tourist trap. It has changed much, and has a more corporate atmosphere. when you see the mansion, you will NOT see upstairs where he died. (unless that has changed). I will say I know in case curious, his bedroom was all black he had terrible sleeping problems. Did you know why he wore those sunglasses? because he had glacoma, which can be quite painful. Of course I know he took too may pills. (his doctor was a quack). he actually first got problems with pills in the army in Germany. They gave you uppers because if you fell asleep on guard duty would be court martialed. I think he was a very kind and loving man for the most part, although very naive' country boy. Did you know every Christmas, they would have presents and all the trimming for battered and abused children? the driveway is lined with blue lights. I actually was one year in the only official graceland choir they had, we sung carols was cool. they also had carriage rides that year, with huge chesires we got to feed them in the stables apples, they make a clysdale look tiny. Elvis' horse was Rising Sun, he was long dead but I got to feed the son, Rising Sun's relection or Decendant I forget the whole horses name. Pricilla's horse is mean, just like her, lol. (in my oinion she is a snot). All that got fouled up though was 0 degrees farenheight just too cold icecicles were hanging off the carriages four inches long, and I about froze to death even with two sets of gloves and three sets of longjohns under my uniform. They had a dancing waters show that year, and with the cold some dummy left the water on, and the pipes froze and burst. so was only year did that a shame. The most crowded time, but the moat magical is at night when have the candle light vigil in honor of his passing. Wonderful. My favorite song? i have many. depends if early elvis or later too. I think he was really at his peak during the 68' comeback special. However in later years his greatest songs to me were supicious minds, in the ghetto and american trilogy, as well as how great thou art. . I like evil from his earlier years, cool song ad many others. his greatest movie is King Creole without a doubt Colonial Parker held him back. Did you know he wanted to be in a star is born, and that carney yokel would not let him? He would have been AWESOME! Much love to you Franky, (LC).
