Default Halotherapy. This is so cool!

I had never been much of a salt bath fan because it hurt me too much, but a man I met, that has his own talk radio health show, talked me into Himalayan salt. I soak my feet in it. I still get creeped out to soak in a bath with this crap floating around me. So I just started doing a little research on different kinds of salt, and I stubbled across this.
You should check if you have one in your town.

The cave is so cool.

Thank you for this info Janice. I have been thinking that I was going to make my extra bedroom into a kind of tranquility/healing room, a place to go when I'm on the IV antibiotics, and I found some good info from your post. You can actually by salt inhalers, salt infusers, etc...

Anyone have any ideas about how to set up my room? I was thinking meditating music, comfy chair, vicks humidifier, salt infuser, lighting, salt inhaler, etc...

Default Hi megan

Thank you for your thank you.

I have an appointment tomorrow at the salt cave. I really want to see if it will help my ears and clear my lungs. I have to drive 2 plus hours to get there, but I am excited to see the place. I will let you know.

MeaganM, I have heard a lot about salt lamps. They look really pretty. I will let you do your own search.

That cave looks really cool Janice!

Default My trip to the cave

They were very nice at the salt cave, they gave me a free session for driving that far to check it out. So I had two sessions at 45 min each. The cave itself is very dreamy and relaxing. You can definitely zone out. The experience was very therapeutic as I could feel my sinuses draining. I think it takes a series of these sessions to get really good results.
I think tomorrow morning may possibly be where I feel more results. So I will wait and see.
All and all if you live close to one of these caves ( there a quite a few scattered in other states) I think it is worth a try if you do a series.
I live too far away to go a lot, but it was a lovely day and lovely experience.

That sounds absolutely amazing. What does it look like inside? Is it like a natural pool inside the cave?

As far as himalayan salt, I've bought some from the local health food store and it was clay and white in color. I didn't feel any difference between it and the salt bar I usually bathe with. I don't have open lesions, though. This might be more helpful to heal lesions.

The problems I'm having seem to be unique. But like I've said before, I'll do pretty much anything, within reason, to alleviate them.

The Himalayan salt I have seen is a pinkish or orange color. I hope they have one of these caves close to you, so you can try it out.

Default Partial list of salt caves around the US

Funny, I am still processing the effects of my salt cave exsperience. I feel more open this morning, as far as my sinuses, than yesterday. Too bad the cave is so far away from me.

I am sure more have opened around the states, so double check on your state.

Default Pink salt

I use Himalayan Pink salt in all of my cooking, and on my food, but since I don't have a bathtub, I can't soak in it. I may try it as a foot soak one of these days, though. It's quite expensive.
