| Dear Carls: I am very excited about this baking soda/maple syrup recipe! I've been drinking water with a teaspoon of baking soda a day (thanks to kritts suggestions) and green tea, (thanks Jo) and reading info on Dr. Simoncini's medicine. I felt an improvement and wished I could absorb the baking soda more into my system. I tried this method yesterday and felt things moving on a number of levels. Can't wait to try it again today. I'll let you know what happens next. I am so hopeful. Thank you! xoxoFaith |

| Hey Kool~ hmmm...cloves... why not? Faith....so glad you're doing this. Also I forgot all about getting back to Dr. Simoncini...what a loser I am! This gives me an idea....why don't we all come up with a delicious and effective brew we can drink which includes the best combination of the ingredients we know work to kill these bastards? One caution... I do realize some things cancel each other out but I'm not a chemist nor naturopath, so I don't know... We can also make TWO different concoctions to be taken apart from each other like in the am and pm or one day one and the next the other. I think Grapefruit seed extract should be included too. Oh, and I'm also wondering if organic honey isn't sweet enough to replace the maple syrup? I have no problem with the syrup because I think there are so many nutritional, medicinal substances which come from trees it probably is a much over-looked healer. xoxo to all yas, Kritts Last edited by Kritters; January 11th, 2009 at 01:29 PM. |

| What great new information, Carla I have some info too about nutrition. I just got this book about integrative medicine. Reading here in the book Clinical Nutrition by David Rakel. It states Garlic and onion oils were found to decrease the number of skin tumors in an animal study. diallyly Sulfide , a component of garlic, applied topically 1 hour befor or after exposure to carcinogens, delays the onset of tumoprs and confers significant protection from skin carcinogeneisis. Translation of these results into human prevention studies is lacking. |

| I am planning on making this mixture today (maple syrup and baking soda), but just thought to remind others that regular baking soda contains aluminum. I am using one which does not have aluminum to make this mixture as I definitely want to avoid aluminum. I know we have discussed this before but there are new people here since that time. Here is one source in the US for this product if it cannot be located in the health food store: iHerb.com - Product Details - Bob's Red Mill, Aluminum Free, Baking Soda, Gluten Free, 16 oz (1 lb) 453 g
