Default Herbs for Lymes/Morgellons

I thought this was an interesting post on the types of herbs that were used for this couple suffering from Lymes and Morgellons. I found it on The New Morgellons Order site. Anyone ever been there? They have some useful info, articles and personal stories:

Morgellons Treatment Herbal

Below is an herbal regimen developed by JWF, sometimes referred to as "Blue Skies - John". With Lymebusters being a 'members only' group now, I decided to post it here as I find it to be one of the most comprehensive herbal approaches to this illness. This document is crucial to all who are seeking a natural approach to healing. -Chas

(from John)
I am posting this in the hope that it may help someone in their recovery from Morgellons, and Lyme if you also have that infection.

When my wife and I were sick with Lyme and Morgellons, we were not sure what bacteria, fungus, yeast, or fill in the _____, came first, so I decided to go for the mow 'em down approach with the most powerful herbs that we could buy.

The most important herbs, depending on degree of 'herxing' are:

Cat's Claw, Teasel, Olive Leaf Extract, Seven Forest Herbal formulas for Spirochetes ,Triphala, and Sarsaparilla.

Also: 2 Kyolic Garlic formulas (Immune and Antioxidant), Pau d'Arco, Folic Acid, NAC(Cysteine), Ionic Silver, Oregano, and Grape Seed Extract.

Also Artemisinin if you suspect Babesia.

For Sanity: Aromatherapy: Menthol crystals diffused into bedroom & office- calming to nerves and whatever itches like hell.

Lifesaver: Kleen-em-Away (enzyme cleaner) or equivalent.

Each item has a purpose and some have several. Some are antibacterial, anti-fungal, and a dewormer. Others are for taking care of the die-off of bacteria, yeast, fungus, and worms and flukes if you have those.

We had neuro-Lyme symptoms to the extreme. About the only thing we didn't lose was our sense of humor- although we mostly laughed at ourselves.

I feel like our present good health is due to attacking all infection and infestation at the same time- because they reinforce and sustain each other.

Knock out one and the others invite another.

Until the answers are revealed through research, if ever, of what attacks first and what follows, that riddle may not make a difference in how you treat your health problem- specifically Morgellons, which seems to encompass many infections and infestations.

As a gentle reminder Cat's Claw helps over 200 known medical conditions, and for my wife and I it was as close to a silver bullet for the bad guys as you could find.

Blue Skies..........John

Note: John is a nutritionist and highly respected at the lymebuster's forum. This herb treatment for Lymes Disease and Morgellons is what worked for John and his wife. Please check with your health provider before attempting to use these herbs. Please take into consideration that this protocol may not be the right treatment for your situation.

Herbs:

Cat's Claw (Frame: Cat's Claw Capsules - Uncaria tomentosa, Cat's Claw Products - Uncaria tomentosa, Cat's Claw Products - Uncaria tomentosa, Cat's Claw Products)

Teasel (Misty Meadows Online Store - Extracts) & (http://www.jeansgreens.com/Catalog.htm)
Note: Teasel is such a powerful herb and probably should be pulsed or alternated with other anti-spirochetes.
It is recommended to stop taking the stronger herbs for a couple of weeks and then start again to keep the insidious Lyme bacteria off balance.
John follows the Matthew Wood's protocol because of his success rate. Sunnyfield Herb Farm, Lyme5
It is a judgment call to combine Teasel and Cat's Claw. It is recommended to start with the Teasel alone and get a good feel for how you are herxing with it-and then add the Cat's Claw after a week or so if you can tolerate it.

Olive Leaf Extract (for bacteria, viruses, yeast, and fungus) (Susan Ambrosino's Herb Club | 5,000 Chinese, exotic & organic herbs in capsules, liquids & bulk)

Seven Forest Herbal formulas for Spirochetes:
The Seven Forest herbal formulas No. 6 and 18 can be purchased from a local Acupuncturist.
Cost is around $17.00 per 250 tablet bottle.
These are excellent supplements and will probably fight many of the co-infections that travel with Lyme and those that latch on afterward. The primary target is Lyme.

Triphala (Susan Ambrosino's Herb Club | 5,000 Chinese, exotic & organic herbs in capsules, liquids & bulk)

Sarsaparilla (Susan Ambrosino's Herb Club | 5,000 Chinese, exotic & organic herbs in capsules, liquids & bulk) & (Wealth of the Rainforest - Pharmacy to the World from Raintree Nutrition, Inc.)

2 Kyolic Garlic formulas (Immune and Antioxidant)
The Kyolic brand is preferred because it is fermented.
It is one of the strongest garlics you can buy, and it doesn't have the sometimes objectionable odor that other brands have.

Graviola (Frame Graviola Capsules - Annona muricata)
Graviola is antifungal and anti-parasitic (especially worms)--and is very potent.

Pau d'Arco (anti-fungus/candida/yeast)

Folic Acid

NAC(Cysteine--anti-worm)
NAC or N-Acetyl-Cysteine is used by us primarily for
detox. Takes care of the acetaldehyde that Lyme folks
produce. We weren't aware of its anti-worm properties
except that all things sulfur (cysteine) seem to combat
them.
Blue Skies...............John

Ionic Silver (Natural-Immunogenics - Manufacturer of Sovereign Silver, Argentyn 23 and Other Colloidal Silver Hydrosol Products)

Oregano

Grape Seed Extract

MYCOCIDE (CANDIDA ALBICANS)
Enzymes International, Inc.

Artemisinin if you suspect Babesia:
ARTEMISININ ANNUA--salve for lesions
ARTEMISININ--
Artemisinin
Ching-hao or Artemesia Annua salve for lesionsand Artemisinin were bought from the Organic Pharmacy in Asheville:

Hey Linda thanks for all the information here. It got lost in the shuffle to me. I need more time to go through all the new posts. Its not like before when we were a humble 9 member group. Anyway the list has some great herbs in the bunch. Lots of immune boosting herbs which I think is a definite key in getting better with morgellons.

I really believe the immune system plays a major role in lyme disease and morgellons in getting and treating the diseases.

I have taken the olive leaf, grape, seed extract, garlic, neem , oil of oregano, yeast cleanse, wormwood and black walnut. (And a few other assorted here and there! Vitamins too!) The oil of oregano was toooo nasty for me to put under my tongue, so I put the drops in a capsule--still strong, but tolerable. I mixed the woormwood and black walnut in water to dilute the taste. I also wash with neem soap.
I did not know about cat's claw, so there is one I need to get. I was a little disenchanted for a while after trying all of this. when I started whammying these bugs full force with all of the above, that is when it actually got worse- sores, but then got better. They are now about as good as they have been in a year. Antibiotics and anti-fungals did not get this good of results for me. However, mine were never prescribed per any protocol.
I cannot say what has really helped because i have also been seeing an acupunturist and do not want to diminish the fact that I think that has helped.

Hello
I just read some of the herbs which are taken for Lyme and Morgellons. From all the reading I have done, I see there are a few missing in the list. Such as Andrographis, Stephania, Bushy knot weed (HuZhang- where resvertrol is obtained) red root, boneset, and smilax. I know in Buhners book, Healing Lyme Disease he states several internet site which the herbs can be purchased. One of them is http://www.1stchineseherbs.com , they seem to have a large list for lyme disease, but do not mention morgellons Also I noticed that they have a page with a brief explaination of how the herbs work. Last I would like to know is: Has anyone taken any of these herbs listed for more than 6 months. I have taken for 5 months now, and I am wondering if a break is needed.
thanks
