Default Immune system immunity!

Hi folks,

I just wanted to express my thoughts today after some continued reading & pondering. Hope you don't mind. It's like being able to have a conversation with my best friends who are also sharing my situation.

It seems that every time I look up a disease, the statement is made (other than the fact that they don't have a cure for it....again) that it occurs usually in immune compromised individuals.

Well, guess what! OUR IMMUNE SYSTEM ITSELF IS COMPROMISED!

Think about this: Parasites have been around millions, possibly billions of years. Humans are relatively new in comparison. Parasites are the most amazing thing I have ever read about. They are so advanced, so complex, so creative, so clever, so EVERYTHING that the average person has no way of knowing unless they study parasitology. (this especially includes medical physicians and even cellular biologists) How could we expect our immune system to have advanced to the point of catching up with the parasites?

It's NO WONDER they can't find cures for diseases. They're not even looking at what's in front of them and has been since the beginning of time. That just baffles me to no end.

In any case, I'm also constantly reading that by the time the immune system ID's an organism in order to develop antibodies to fight it and future returns of it, the parasite has already changed its coat or more and developed into a different organism and escapes it. This is why they can't produce a serum for innoculation or cure for so many diseases. In other words, our immune system is inept to fight these parasites.

Also, (Milly...check this out) there are parasites which actually use our immune cells as hosts, thereby rendering them useless to help us in time of need. And another cause of auto-immune disease besides parasites invading our dna and incorporating itself into it, thereby escaping the immune system (which I am losing respect for daily) is that organisms which go unchecked and multiply exponentially actually cause the immune system to 'farkle' become overwhelmed and confused, rendering it useless. Some immune system, huh?

But then what should we expect given the short period of time in existence compared to parasites? I think our immune system is grossly over-rated and certainly isn't helped by modern medicine.

I believe we should utilize as much natural remedial medicine, which has been around the longest time, in it's purest forms and with diversity to catch these little ****s in any form du jour. While the immune system is checking through the handbook of critters and scratching its head, the natural medicine can be doing its job. I also think that keeping your blood alkaline is KEY to avoiding and fighting disease (I know I've said it before, but it's worth another mention, I think) and taking pro-biotics, although I don't know enough about that yet.

So, I think we need to nourish our bodies with the vitamins and nutrients necessary to build the strongest components necessary for health and developing the strongest immune system we can, eating alkaline producing foods, avoiding any toxins possible, taking pro-biotics to help the immune system itself, and using natural herbal preparations to fight disease.

One other thing to add, is getting oxygen into the blood via H202 or other means to kill whatever we can that way and do regular colon cleanses in form of choice.

Oh, and keep the house pets in the carriage room and don't touch them

Hey, Kritts, enjoyed your post. It make us realize why it is hard for anyone to stay well. I guess some folks are fortunate enough to be born with stronger constitutions, what in tcm is called jing. It is easier for such people to stem the tide of illness and early aging:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jing_(TCM)

"Jīng (Chinese: 精; Wade-Giles: ching1) is the Chinese word for "essence", specifically kidney essence. Along with qì and shén, it is considered one of the Three Treasures Sanbao 三寶 of Traditional Chinese Medicine or TCM. Jīng is stored in the kidneys and is the most dense physical matter within the body (as opposed to shén which is the most volatile). It is said to be the material basis for the physical body and is yīn in nature, which means it nourishes, fuels, and cools the body. As such it is an important concept in the internal martial arts. Jīng is also believed by some to be the carrier of our heritage (similar to DNA). Production of semen, in the man, and menstrual blood (or pregnancy), in the woman, are believed to place the biggest strains on jīng. Because of this, some even equate jīng with semen, but this is inaccurate; the jīng circulates through the 8 extraordinary vessels and creates marrow and semen, among other functions.[1]

One is said to be born with a set amount of jīng (pre-natal jīng, also sometimes called yuan qi) and also can acquire jīng from food and various forms of stimulation (exercise, study, meditation.) Theoretically, jīng is consumed continuously in life; by everyday stress, illness, substance abuse, sexual intemperance, etc. Pre-natal jīng by definition cannot be renewed, and it is said it is completely consumed upon dying.

So, this jīng is considered quite important for longevity in TCM. Many disciplines related to qìgōng are devoted to the replenishment of "lost" jīng by restoration of the post-natal jīng. In particular, the internal martial arts (esp. Tai chi chuan) and the Circle Walking of Baguazhang may be used to preserve pre-natal jīng and build post-natal jīng - if performed correctly. Commonplace in China is the sight of rénshēn on sale in herb shops, at a wide range of prices - Kung Fu classics fans may remember it used as a plot element at the start of Drunken Master 2. Rénshēn, particularly Korean and Chinese, is said to bolster the jīng and a common medicinal recipe is to add to porridge (of course congee in China) along with cinnamon, goji berries and ginger for a sweet, warming breakfast when the weather starts to turn cold in Autumn." (ren shen is pinyin for ginseng)

This article mentions that even if we are not fortunate enough to be born with a terrific constitution we can try to strengthen it. It is just the luck of the draw what we were born with jing wise. Most of that is determined by the health of our parents and our ancestors. In nearly all our cases I am fairly sure there are weaknesses in kidney (adrenal) jing. Notice how in TCM the kidneys control the bone marrow. This is why some get osteoporosis. To prevent this problem TCM uses herbs to support the kidney function while aging. It is not at all about calcium supplements which are poorly absorbed and often cause kidney stones, further compromising kidney function. Of course weaker jing is not all that could be going on with us morgies health wise, but I believe that our jing (constitution) is the basis of our health and that inherited weakness in that area sets us up for invasions from all those pathogens we call parasites (in whatever guise). So I agree with you, we do have depressed immune systems.

Anyway, your advice to eat nourishing foods and use herbs is terrific IMHO (you would make the TCM master here so happy if he could hear you). While we may have been born with a jalopy body if we take care of it, especially now, we might last longer than the person born with a BMW or Jaguar body, but gives the car zero maintenance. Food indeed for thought and not for those parasites. This is why your mention of keeping the body at the proper alkaline level (minimize sugar, also TCM advice) to strengthen the immune system is excellent, so that the food hopefully will nourish the body and not all those hungry mouths (gee and I thought motherhood was long past ). Just a couple excerpts I thought might interest you Kritts, as it shows our lymph system is in our gut, the key to future health, so we do need to keep using those probiotics and fermented foods such as natural sauerkraut (remember someone mentioned this today) unprocessed by heat, live cultured yogurt, ditto buttermilk, and kefir:

http://www.attunefoods.com/media/MSN307.htm

"Building stores of the right probiotics are essential to your overall health not just to prevent or correct an overgrowth of bad bacteria, but because they support absorption of nutrients within the intestines. “The largest aspect of our immune system is in our intestine, called the Gut Associated Lymphoid Tissue, or the GALT,” says Alex Kraft, a naturopathic physician, licensed acupuncturist and lead practitioner at a Pharmaca integrated drug store based in Seattle’s Madison Park neighborhood. “There’s little patches along the whole gastro-intestinal tract, trying to detect what is foreign or not. Our intestine is much more permeable than our skin. Our skin acts as a barrier but the intestines need to absorb things back and forth all the time, so the intestines have to have a good immune system. Some of the probiotics actually secrete things that help boost that immune system."

The intestinal tract has considerable influence over how we feel. If our intestines are in good shape, we are not even aware of them. But the intestines are more than just a long tube used for digesting food. The number of bacteria found in the intestinal tract is larger than the number of cells that make up our body. What's more, the biggest part of our immune system is located in the intestines. And, after the brain, the intestines possess the second largest plexus of nerve cells. Our intestinal immune system not only protects us from dangerous bacteria, viruses and parasites, it also prevents us from developing an immune response to the food we eat.

As usual, TC....you are an amazing source of a wealth of information. It is always so great to not only have you back up my thoughts, but provide such interesting facts.

Wow. I surely did not know that! Get out of town!! It all so makes sense! Thanks so much for that info.
