| ideally the ph of your body should be 7.1 and 7.5 on a ph scale, 7 is considered neurtral and anything below seven is considered acidic and anything above 7 is considered alkaline. an alkaline environment is less hospitable to candida and parasites both. to use the test strips, the morning's first urine is what is used for a sample, when the body has the highest concentration of chemicals. the test strip will show if your body is acidic or alkaline. liquid chlorophill added to the water will help make your body more alkaline. here is a link to the site, search for chlorophyll, this site also has the test strips and they also carry a supplement called chickweed supposed to be good for you and help regulate weight. here is the website: http://www.swansonvitamins.com/ . i had a good chat with a member in here and they said as far as my personal diet i needed more magnesium, like from green leafy vegtables, and also should eat stuff like coleslaw fron fresh cabbage (mmmm i do love coleslaw). they said the chlorophyll in the water, (the liquid kind, 16 oz for 10.99 would be the type discussing) would help make one's body more alkaline. being the stuff which makes vegetation green, sounded like a neat idea to me. hope i get more feedback on this topic, let me know what you think, (LC). |

| Hi LC, Swanson's has a sale on Nature's Way chlorophyll with mint, 16 oz for $5.25 which may save you some, if you do not mind the addition of mint. Chlorophyll is not very tasty to me, so the added mint would be welcome addition if I were to use it. Using green liquids or powders has always been tricky for me, as so many of them are cooling to the body. Blue green algae gives me stomach aches as does spirulina. I think the way to find out about some nutritionals is through trialing to see how it affects you. Everyone has a different body chemistry so what works for one, may not for someone else. The old saw which says one man's meat is another man's poison is so often true. In general, I think eating greens is a good idea (southerners have this right, pass those collards, mustard and turnip greens please), as in modern life so many people ignore greens and other vegetables. And the body does need chlorophyll so supplementing green food intake with liquid chlorophyll sounds as if it could be a good idea. best, tcm

| Apparently if you put any of the powder from the green grasses or the organic mixes on skin/lesions/boils it will heal them in about two weeks. Wheatgrass. Food for thought, not just nutrition! Addition of chlorophyll in low concentrations to fibroblasts, (Connective tissue cells that make and secrete collagen proteins. These assist wound and injury healing both inside the body and on the skin) resulted in a "rapidly increased growth rate" - 40 percent in fact - and marked increases in the rate of cell division. Both these processes are vital to speeding up the healing of wounds. Other trials using animals with induced skin wounds and burns resulted in faster healing rates (approximately 25%) than other agents tested . In addition, several studies showed marked healing efficacy by chlorophyll derivatives in human burns, chronic skin ulcers, dermatoses (skin conditions e.g. psoriasis, eczema) and gingivitis. Chlorophyllin [chlorophyll] inhibited the growth of bacteria that commonly infect wounds, such as Staphylococcus aureus. This was shown in experimental animals, in tissue culture in the laboratory, and in one trial of more than 400 hospital patients with suppurative (infected) wounds, regeneration of subcutaneous tissue and regrowth of the overlying skin that was significantly superior to several other healing agents. http://www.wheatgrassprofessional.in...s/letter_may04. | Wheat Grass is considered an alkaline food, and would be an excellent addition to a diet in which creating a less acidic internal environment is a goal. http://www.wheatgrass.com/faq/raqs.php Wheat grass powder is a concentrated source of vegetable greens, essential to life. Chlorophyll, for natural cleansing of the blood and support to the immune system, and Beta Carotene, the precursor of Vitamin A, are present in highly significant quantities. Wheat Grass powder is an alkaline food. Alkaline foods keep the body from losing bone calcium. http://www.melrosehealth.com.au/prod...&products_id=7 |

| Wheatgrass For Inflammation The secret of wheatgrass' efficacy is its wound healing, hemostatic and anti-inflammatory properties. It can significantly help reduce pain, swelling and inflammation, and check subcutaneous and cutaneous bleeding quickly, thereby enhancing the natural healing process. The outcome is often very gratifying as clinical improvement is expedited compared with conventional methods of treatment. This does not mean that standard treatment measures should be ignored, in fact, wheatgrass can often be used in conjunction with other treatments for a better outcome. e.g. with steroid creams in acute dermatitis. Unlike capsaicin and other natural wound healing substances, wheatgrass can safely be applied to open wounds such as lacerations, leg ulcers and burns. Any mild discomfort settles quickly. In infants and children it is probably better to apply wheatgrass around the wound. It still works. Use sparingly as a little goes a long way. As with any “natural” product, it pays to persist with chronic conditions for at least three months before ceasing treatment. Abscess Apply WHEAT GRASS to surface of abscess & wait 10 minutes. This reduces pain of incision. Drain abscess. Apply WG to wound & surrounding inflamed tissues. Do not insert drainage wick. Apply non-stick dressing & moderately firm bandage. Repeat in 24 hours. Pain can cease overnight. Minimal discharge, inflammation & swelling. Drainage wick not required. Wound closure in two or three days usually with daily dressing & WG application. Patient can self-treat with WG & dressing on day 3. http://www.wheatgrassprofessional.info/inflam.htm |

| Carpenter. 1949. Clinical experiences with chlorophyll preparations A clinical study using chlorophyll preparations to treat chronic osteomyelitis, osteomyelitis secondary to compound fractures and chronically infected wounds and ulcers. The study included many patients that had been resistant to other forms of therapy. The author considered chlorophyll preparations not necessarily a cure, but was interested to find ‘such rapid eradication of infection and healing of wounds’. Photos show epithelialization and healing of lesions, chronic ulcers and a ‘grossly infected amputation stump’. In many of the wound healing and ulcer cases there was no evidence of recurrence of infection or of breakdown at 18 months. Smith & Livingston. 1943. Chlorophyll. An experimental study of its water soluble derivatives in wound healing Wound healing involves an inflammatory (exudative) phase and a proliferative tissue growth and repair phase that presumably involves growth stimulating factors. This study tested various water soluble chlorophyll preparations and other agents including vitamin ointments and sulfathiazole on wounds created by excising portions of skin from rats, guinea pigs, rabbits and dogs. Response in rate of healing tended to be greater for chlorophyll than with other agents tested (the data is summarized in several tables not reproducible here). Conclusion: ‘On the basis of these observations it is suggested that chlorophyll preparations should be used much more extensively in the treatment of wounds and burns.’ Bowers. 1947. Chlorophyll in wound healing and suppurative disease Lieutenant Colonel Bowers of the US Army reports on the use of water-soluble derivatives of chlorophyll in over 400 cases over a period of nine months. He (and colleagues) noted several major effects, notably: loss of odour associated with infected wounds; a stimulating effect on tissue formation (granulation tissue) when used as a dressing particularly for burns; and a drying effect in the case of abscesses, sinus tracts, surface lesions and osteomyelitis. Mention is made of chlorophyll efficacy in treatment of cyst wounds, fistula-in-ano (6 cases), sarcoma/carcinoma (4 cases), ulcerative colitis (1 case), thoracic empyema (several cases, 2 particularly effective), gunshot wound sinus tracts (17 cases), decubitis ulcer (4 cases) and burns (4 patients). In 119 cases of compound fractures to limbs chlorophyll reduced odour and enhanced healing, in some cases with exceptional results, e.g. legs saved from seemingly inevitable amputation. Numerous other cases and conditions are mentioned. Chlorophyll was comfortable as a wet dressing and was easily tolerated by patients. The author “is convinced that chlorophyll is the best agent known for use in the treatment of suppurative diseases, indolent ulcers or wherever stimulation of tissue repair is desired..” |

| Chlorella is Alkaline and Helps Balance Your Body's pH It's important that we maintain a balance body pH of ideally about 7.2-7.4, which is about neutral. However, because of our poor diet of junk food, overcooked, processed foods, fast food, which include soft drinks which have a pH of 2.7, most of us are not balanced. This is important because most diseases start, live and thrive in an acidic environment and do not live well in an alkaline environment. Cancer rates have risen steadily so that now fully 1/3 of all people in the U. S. will get cancer in their lifetime. The rise of fast, junk and processed foods match those of rising cancer rates. 30 years ago, cancer in children was almost unheard of. Now they have entire hospital wards given over to children with cancer. Including whole foods like chlorella in your diet is one step you can take toward reducing your risks for cancer. Chlorella Normalizes Blood Sugar and Blood Pressure Studies have shown that chlorella tends to normalize blood sugar in cases of hypoglycemia. In hypoglycemia, blood sugar is too low. Proper levels of blood sugar are necessary for normal brain function, heart function and energy metabolism, all of which are crucial in sustaining good health and preventing disease. High blood pressure is one of the major risk factors in heart attack and stroke, which account for more fatalities in the United States than any other disease. Laboratory experiments have shown that regular use of chlorella reduces high blood pressure and prevents strokes in rats. http://www.healingdaily.com/oral-che...-chlorella.htm |

| i agree with what saying tara it really makes sense. our food is terrible these days and portions are out of control. having kids be padered to the junk they push on kids in cool ads is sad. the ads are better animated than the cartoons! bright colors lots of sugar fat additives and god only kow what type of genetically modified stuff could be in there. soda is gross, and i get sick watching some folks in the grocery store who buy cases of soda, snackcakes, chips and hamburger helper and chef boyardee, and no real veggies and candy. gross sick it is. coke and pepsi also have acid in it which over time of comsumption can deteriorate our bones. and COKE WITH VITAMINS?!?!? ??? like fortifying a TURD. i want to try the chlorophyll, i really do. even "healthy" foods can be modifed, they no longer give us a choice. saying now going to supplement milk cheese with agents to lower chloresterol. like what put in margarine. bad enough put human dna and hormones in it. milk does not take like milk anymore, and acidophilus milk is gone. i would not mind for a big musroom cloud to spread over monsanto and dow corporate headquarters, i would tolerate the irradiation to have them leave our food alone, and our environment. since most food irradiated ayway. the department of agriculture, the cdc, who, the pharamceutical industry, the fda are all a JOKE. | Amen to that L.C. www.healthfreedom.net is the website to see for all the information on this subject. They are actually intending to pasturize raw almonds because there was some contamination ONCE. They are trying to use food alteration for POPULATION CONTROL, I swear. That's why people are so sick, fat and unhealthy. Aspartame is the worst thing to put in our bodies, and it was pushed through by Donald Rumsfeld. It is killing people and do you think the CDC or CSPI (a joke in itself) would do anything to take it off the market? Why aren't cigarettes ILLEGAL??? Don't get me started .Kritts |

| well i do smoke, sorry. i have my faults. but what you are speaking of yes robbed of choice to choose just plain wrong. (LC). |
